But in all seriousness, that's just wrong what those theives did. How could you deprive so many adults and children of AC in these kind of temperatures? -

Since a few years back we have huge problems here in Sweden with copper thieves. Mostly it's criminal gangs from eastern Europe. The copper is said to eventually end up in China to feed their ever growing need for metal in their growing industrial business.
These people will steal all sort of cables for trams, communication devices, church roofs and art work (outdoor statues mostly, in some places it's so bad the cities have been forced to remove statues to store them in a safe place, away from greedy hands).
Only a couple of weeks ago, in my city, one of these thieves were found burned to death; he'd made his way into an electrical sub station trying to get to the copper. That's how far some will go. -

Since I was already on my way to france, I though it would be cool to pay you Irish folks a vistit too. But I can't because it's much too expensive with the conversion rate.

Array I've heard the stories about thieves frying themselves trying to get at conduit and wiring.
Hopefully the police will get some leads on the theives or at least a big donor or two will come out to help out the center.
Both my son and one of his friends had brief cameos in the video. (Noah was donning the Elton John-esque yellow sunglasses.)

Array People did live before AC. I also don't think it's terrible to be uncomfortable. As long as they keep water available and drink it they'll be fine. ===)-------------------

people die during summers when there are power outages and ACs go down. -

Array No, Your right, I haven't lived in Atlanta. I have stayed for a week and a half in Phoenix Arizona where it was 110+ for whole time. I'm not saying I know what it's like to stay like that for half a year.
It makes me sad to realize that people are so dependent on electricity that they actually die without it. ===)-------------------

It makes me sad to realize that people are so dependent on electricity that they actually die without it. because of temperatures, humans are not capable of surviving in some environments without assistance, period. electricity and AC have made us able to populate more areas than we would be able to naturally. -

Array Yeah you're right. (time for a pun in very poor taste) I guess I'm just blowing hot air. ===)-------------------

Maybe you missed the part of the story where they clearly stated that the windows of the building don't open. If you think that's merely uncomfortable in temps of 90s & 100s, you are mistaken (or one seriously tough hombre -- presumably more so than a bunch of toddlers). Similar Threads -
