| Fencing Clubs in NC? Hey, I'm going to be heading back home for the summer, and I didn't know if anyone had suggestions for fencing clubs I could practice at in the Charlotte, NC area. I just started epee this year at school, and I can't imagine going 3 months without it.

That said, Touche isn't a bad club either. Depends where you'll be in the area- CFA is on the north side of town, while Touche is in the southern part. |

If you have any questions about Touche you can send me a message and I will get you any information you need. (Our website is not the most up to date site in the world)
And welcome to Epee in Charlotte, it is a lot of fun here.

| divisional epee I heard that Touche won the epee event so that would be the best bet for your money I guess.

| I would disagree. While touche has a good coach, Divisional results are not a good measure of a club's strength since their best fencers (Bs and As) are not able to fence in them. CFA has several strong epee fencers while touche's strength seems more geared towards foil.

| what is at a club? True, you would have to define what you are looking to gain over the summer. Become a better epee fencer (nationally, locally, regionally), learn to teach, learn to ref, learn to armor your own stuff, learn the other weapons.
All these would considerations for your choice for the summer. See which of these clubs have them.

See which of these clubs have them. | While all of these are valuable skills, I would imagine that someone just starting out would be more concerned with becoming a better fencer and learning to armor. The reffing (especially epee') can be learned through reffing clubmate's bouts while waiting to fence and learning to teach can be learned a multitude of ways. I'm pretty sure either club offers that, while Touche' would have an advantage on the armoring because the coach there (as far as I remember) either runs or acts as a US vendor for PBT.

| Yeah Touche is the best, because of our cool vending machine. And because they made me a you tube superstar .

| Haha, loved the music in the video. I've been to a practice at Touche before to watch a friend, so it looked familiar.
And RebelFencer was right, I need to just practice at becoming better over the summer. Other things can come later.

| Either CFA or Touche would be fine for you. Or both! Why limit yourself? It probably just depends on location and timing. I'm with Touche and the epee group meets on Monday and Wednesday evenings. We'd be happy to see you. |

| Heck, you should make different random stops at clubs all around the state. You'll find a variety of different useful things everywhere in addition to all of the great and different food stuffs you could eat from BoJangles to CookOut to LocoPops (ok, you really only have to travel for LocoPops).

| Haha! I never thought of that! I've also never heard of a LocoPops... even if I stick with one club, I might need to take a road trip to find one of those.
