Array Photos for Division Website I am updating our division website, and would like to add some pictures in the "What is Fencing?"/"Information for Beginners" section.
Are there any public domain photos that we could use? I have some pictures that I have taken myself, but they are not very professional looking. -

Array You could look through fencing pics on flickr and message the people with photos you like asking permission to use them: http://www.flickr.com/search/?q=escrime&w=all&s=int -

Of course read the fine print first (on a picture page, look for a link that says "some rights reserved" or similar), but in general I don't think you'd have any problems using it for a divisional website. Unfortunately searching for "fencing" gets you a lot of pictures of barbed wire and pickets. I had better luck using terms like epee, foil fencing, etc.

Fencer is another good search term: Creative Commons fencer search on Flickr.com.
Don't forget that these sites are international, so searching for escrime, esgrima, Fechtsport, etc. may also turn up some photos that are not also tagged in English. -

You should contact Serge Timacheff at FencingPhotos.com and see if he would be willing to help you out. There are several fencing sites that use his photos, but I'm not sure what their licensing terms are.
It would be worth it to spend some on his photos given the quality (he's the official FIE photographer for a reason.)
