| Craig, we need a moderator! PLEASE!!! Okay, the situation's getting out of hand. I can take all sorts of criticism; I've been called gay before. But this has nothing to do with me. This is just DISGUSTING, and NOBODY should have to read it. GW was one thing; he however was calm and reasonable. This "355" seems to have no real goal here, except to write pornography. Hey - I'm told there's websites just for that. Leave us alone!
Regardless, we need a moderator. Free speech is one thing, this is another. At this point, I'd settle for Space_cadet for a moderator. We just need somebody with the authority to delete this kind of crap, and block the author.
Craig, PLEASE!

| Craig, I have to agree with Swordsman. I have only seen one of his posts but just from that I know he's worse than GW. Where IS Space by the way? Oh and what exactly will this Writing Council do? Also I don't think it should be judged by who was here first. Thats like oldest to youngest, and that doesn't work alot of the time. Alright I've put my two cents in.

| I agree, everyone here should have some input because we all write here, and are all part of some storyline. Why don't we just use that thread for input on everything? Everyone could give their ideas there, maybe those people could kind of be moderators I guess, but it still would be better if *everyone* got a chance to give ideas and input.

| Ok, I wasn't going to get involved, but since I was originally the victim of pornography on this board, I need to have my say.
The sudden surge of foul mouthed troublemakers must stop. Craig, at this point, you're the only one with power to do so. No one, & I mean NO one should have such things written about them. This is NOT the type of place for it, even in "fantasy" land. If someone has sick fetishes, they need to take it elsewhere or get mental help. They obviously cannot handle themselves in a way that goes along with society. In fact, they could be considered borderline psychotic. KIDS come on this board, & I'm not talking about the potty mouthed trash talkers. Not to mention that a nationally recognized magazine like American Fencing has an ad for this place. Many curious people visit. Is that TRASH what we want them to see? How about non fencers? Is this the image we want them to have?
This has nothing to do with freedom of speech. No where in the Constitution does it say, "You have the right to harass, insult, attack or damage the reputation of another person" (in fact, there ARE laws against slander). Those who are whining about their "rights" are the ones who have no idea what responsibility means in terms of those rights. They only want justification for this online harassment & slander.
It simply must stop.

| Swordy,
Last time I checked there are websites for fantasy writing too. Even the washout drivel that frequents this hole.
Why don't you act like you have a pair?
-----
Arcon,
I think that it's great that you are finally exploring your sexuality even if it is in fiction. At least this way you won't be passing your dumbass genes along.
Hey how did it go with that flight attendent you were lipping about? Even if she thought fencing was cool I'm sure that she wasn't into old scrubs like you.
-----
Moon,
You seem to be constantly obsessed about the minors who might be cruising through this site.
Have you ever considered that before Fantasyland there had never been any kind offensive material on this board?
If you guys take this somewhere else I promise you that there will not be any offensive material posted on this site. There won't be a need for it.
You seem a very ambitious woman, why not make a new home for Fantasyland where it will be safe?
-----
Lastly, any recent attacks here are most certainly a direct result of Fantasyland interference on the FS board. Trust me, you do nothing but stir up trouble for yourselves by doing that.

| "Why don't you act like you have a pair?" What?
Although I must concede the point (touche?) about sites for this. My only argument is that it's nice having fencers for writers, and this place does attract them. And yes, I am working on getting http://arconia.8k.com.

| Yes, and the truly, deliberately offensive posts did not begin until YOU started posting, George. The complaints about porno posts belong squarely on your head, as well as 355. Exploring a character's romantic interests can be done tastefully and appropriately, even if young'uns are reading the board. You and your ilk, howerver, have all the taste of Tammy Faye Baker in a beauty shop. Quote:

| As Col. Potter from "M*A*S*H" would say, horse hockey! No one here started anything on FencingSucks. The generally brain-dead morons there started it off because they've really got nothing constructive to say.
And as far as Swordsman having a pair...this from someone who hides behind a false name while he slams everyone in sight?
Geez, you're an idiot. |

| GW, you obviously have a problem with Fantasy Land exisiting at fencing.net. WHY? Why are you so threatened by it? That's what I'd like to know. Is your life so messed up that you can't handle people blowing off steam? Some people go to message boards to curse like drunken sailors, thinking they're "cool" (like your precious FS). So what if we choose a different way to express ourselves? Who is it really hurting? Try being honest for a half second. I DARE you. This is where Fantasy Land started, & this is where it's going to stay. So grow up & deal with it.
I'm not even going to address the issue of kids on the board. You merely want to justify the nasty things that you & your friend have written. The Dame wrote a story. You & your friend simply attacked members of the board for no other reason but to be jerks.
Stop obsessing about what we do here, & go do something more positive with your life. If you "hate" this place so much, one would think you'd want to avoid it, instead of being so OBSESSED with it.
And that, as they say, is that. I'm an adult. I don't need to deal with hormonal teenagers with too much time on their hands.
Gang, for now on, I suggest that each & every one of us ignore these punks. They obviously have issues if they can't handle what we're doing. Some fencers are creative people. It's not a bad thing. It's a good thing. We don't have anything to be ashamed of.

| Am I just ignorant, or would somebody please explain to me what "having a pair" is?
If you're talking about screen names, so what? We're all using screen names. Do you really want to know who I am? If so, tough. Nothing wrong with using a different name. I wouldn't want you FS jerks coming after me, anyway...and for those who aren't jerks, you know me anyway from talking to me. I have nothing to hide, and hide nothing.

| It's a reference to male genitalia, specifically ye olde balls (apologies all' round, gang).

| I see. I should have gotten that, being in high school (Note: Fact about me! I'm not hiding!). You know, I was about to react to that. But I think I won't; it's not worth it.

| Zelda is moderator of this forum now.
Zelda and some others should be coming up with some rules and guidelines for this forum, which I will expect to be self-policing.
Simply put, a few of the posts crossed the line, but I don't have the time to be in here every day to provide the coverage needed. I hope that this helps to calm things down a bit and let me put some more time into other areas of the site.
Cheers,
Craig |
