Curious Grip Question Okay so I picked up this grip at a competition recently and it seems to be a flattened version of a standard pistol grip, in the sense that all of the grip can be fit into a flat box perhaps 2-3cm tall.
My coach said it was an older type of grip, but he didn't elaborate. Any ideas what it is? I thought it was a Zivkovic until I realized I made a mistake, so I'm curious. -
Hi!
We need pictures in order to be able to help you!

Array As Peter has already said, we would need at least a picture to be certain. However based on what you've stated it sounds like it might be what some people call a "German Visconti" (generally suitable for people with shallow palms). Of course names often don't mean much - different manufacturers will use different names for similar grips. -

Could it be a "gardere" grip? Leon Paul does one and it looks like a cross between french/pistol. -

If you really want to see a variety of grips (short of visiting a vendor) then I suggest downloading the PDF version of American Fencers Supply's catalog (click here- grips are on pages 4-7). It's a bit dated and the line drawings sometimes miss subtle details but the variety of grips shown is pretty much without equal and multiple views make it easier to see the differences between grips. -
