That was helpful to read. I would love for the stories to continue. You all are very talented writers. Arconia is an exciting place, and you all keep it going!

Keep writing, even if you can only contribute a small amount at a time!

Perhaps there are too many stories to keep track of? Perhaps it would help if one thread was started with a new story line to help everyone get back into the swing of things?

Pehaps you need another ball, although I may say that the last couple never ended too peacefully.

Perhaps you need a new foe or a drastic event to happen in Arconia to give everyone something new to write about?

Perhaps, as a stranger, I ought not offer any advice...

    Kehra,

To paraphrase an old cliche: There are no strangers here, only friends we haven't yet met.

    Well-meaning advice is always welcome.

This has been done several times. Most of the separated story lines have come about because individuals had particular story ideas and plot lines they wished to pursue.

There is some scattering among the company--Loch, iwant2bafencer, Tellurine, Moonitic and Keira are looking for Arcon, and Arcon is lost--but there are a number of personal characters that are together back in Arconia--Willow, Tellurine (he gets around!), Loch (he does, too.), Swordsman, Dame dEscrime, and Zelda. The problem as I sse it isn't that there are too many storylines, but that right at the moment RL concerns keep anyone from writing much.

The two things go together. The balls simply acted as platforms to launch "new foe[s] or... drastic event[s]" for people to write about. As for a new foe, the imminent invasion by the Russic Empire should prove precipitating enough for all of us. The expedition to find Arcon has to finish first, however, and Zelda and company need to decide what to do about the succession at home.

So you see, there are plenty of things to write about; sadly, none of the authors seem to have the time to write at the moment.

I'm afraid we must await the collective return of our individual Muses, who seem to have all left for the ladie's room together and are taking an uncommonly long time about it!

As for starting a new story--were you offering? If so, we would love to have you! Perhaps a new thread by a new author is just the priming we need to re-start our own creative pumps...

*laugh* Yes. And I do feel sorry for poor Jo. I think I may say that she seems to have the worst end of things in all the adventures.

*ponders* We shall see. That thought did cross my mind, but the reason I have never registered is because I much enjoyed just reading. I love writing, especially the type I have seen here, but I am afraid I am a bit self-concious of my writing. I only registered here a few days ago because everything was so quiet, so I thought I would sneak in...

And one other reason I had not registered, or thought too much about posting my own writing is because... I do not know one thing at all about fencing, swords, and the likes that have brought you people together...!!

I shall ponder the thought, though. Perhaps I'll write something to post here. We'll see.

Thank you for your reply, lochinvar.

LOL. I'm no fencer, either. Although, I have some dear friends who are. You don't have to fence to be here! If you want to write, just go ahead and write and have fun. That's what Fantasy Land is all about....having fun. Enjoy and welcome!

Read back through the threads, Kehra... you will note that, with a few exceptions, there has actually been very little swordplay.

Knowing about fencing is actually one of the less important skills, here.

And I, too, feel sorry for poor Jo. But at least she got to fall in love.

lol Yes Kehra there is very little need for fencing knowladge here. In fact, I started writing here before I started fencing. (Which I'm Not the greatest at.) Welcome aboard, and feel free to write. I used to be self-concios about my writing to, but I'm not now. For one these guys wont critisize you (rudly). They simply will help you out, and tell you what could be changed to add to your skills. Number two I now write for me, and no one else. If someone thinks my writing suck let them. I could really care less. Write for you, not for us. Oh, and don't forget to have fun.

    Thank you!

I have just one question, is there some sort of map of Arconia and the surrounding places? Or perhaps someone could just tell me all the places that have been created.

And I think people's muses have woken up a bit.

My silly muse has caused a bizarre sort of "nesting" instinct for this pregnant woman. Instead of running around cleaning everything, I've been writing & submitting to contests, book publishers, magazines, websites...whew! 8 this month! She's been working overtime. One project is the novel based on my character, Lady Moon. It's difficult to write about her current adventures, as well as past.

I've been a fencer for 8 years...writer for close to 21...Guess which is MY first love?
