Array referee section? What do people think of having a section specifically for rules and refereeing? I've seen in it a few other forums and I think it works well, and would keep the general fencing section a little less cluttered. "Sir, didn't I parry"
"You didn't take advantage of his blade enough, so no."
(I guess i should have romanced it a bit more..." -
Hi!
I am not sure if I think a special rules forum is a good thing, but if it is enacted I have a strong wish:
That it comes with a subforum for right-of-way threads, and that all those are moved out of the old fencing discussion forum - including the old threads.
Have a nice time!

Array Maybe Craig could just give each member his or her own subforum. Tribalism taken to it's logical conclusion... Use the Shift key, people! Keyboard manufacturers everywhere are ineffably saddened when you ignore what they made just for you! -

Array For those with large amounts of time to spend reading f.net, the breakdown into subsections may indeed seem foolish, a waste, annoying, tie-dyed, what have you. But for those of us with very limited or highly fractured time, these subsections make it much easier to hit areas of specific relevance as opposed to wading through the main forum.
When I have just a few minutes, reading threads with a common (well, supposedly) theme works much better for retaining info as opposed to reading threads that jump from theme to theme like a Jack Russell terrier on crack. I also find the signal to noise ratio far better in these 'tribal' sections than in the main forum. Both of these make a huge difference in being able to make productive use of my time here.
As much as I secretly lust after Inq's large brain and smoked lenses (oops, was that my outside voice?), I think Chris's thought for a referee section is a good one. -

I'll take this under advisement. Means I need some forum junkies to help with moving threads to this new area also.

Array Meh, just start it fresh and have old threads moved if/when they arise as zombies.

Array I was going to say that Refereeing didn't need it's own section, but putting ROW threads in a subsection of their own would make them easier to ignore....

Array Returning from the thread drift... I agree with Chris. I think that there are a lot of topics (even more than just ROW threads) that could benefit from a group referee "round table" type discussion. I know when we ref at national tournaments, the break/food room as well as the "circle of chairs" serve as this situation often. It would be nice to have it between NACs!
Not to mention......wehere else can we continue to b!tch about the lack of payment, long hours, poor food, etc...... Originally Posted by IHateMrPotatohead I can't think of anything to put down there! Similar Threads -
