Lame Jacket As I read from the forum that taking my lame jacket to a printshop and have my last name and country name printed on is acceptable, I was wondering what font and font size and the exact location of where they have to be. thanks.

Array Taken from the 2007-2008 USFA Athlete Handbook (section 2.6):
In all three weapons, each fencer’s last name must be printed legibly from a distance of 15 feet, by hand or machine, in capital letters between 8 and 10 cm high: either (1) on the back of the uniform or lame between the shoulders; (2) on the front or side of the thigh of the “rear” leg; or (3) on a piece of fabric or lame material that is firmly sewn to the uniform in such a way that it will not detach during fencing or catch the opponent’s point. Fabric attached to the uniform must be the same color as the part of the uniform to which it is attached. Conductive materials must be attached in such a way as to
not alter the conductivity of the metallic vest or jacket. NAMES PRINTED ON TAPE ARE NOT ACCEPTABLE.

Array Do yourself a BIG favor and send the lame to someone in the fencing community who actually DOES this work...they know the rules and have the PROPER supplies...remember, the lame still has to conduct electricity through the stencil.
Fencing Post ( http://thefencingpost.com ) does it, as does Marx Enterprises ( www.marxentpdx.com ) -

Array And they can very picky about it. The new specification is that the height of the letters must be a minimum of 8 cm and a maximum of 10 cm. Years ago the Marxes used a nice compact 3 inch stencil cutter. And of course 3 inches is less than 8 cm. Now they have a larger stencil cutter, about 10 or 11 inches. Whoopee! My avatar is back.
