People pay five THOUSAND dollars to have their kids on a ~3 week summer camp?! My...there's obviously money in the kids business. -
gother than thou
Array Are you hiring for both campuses, and if you're hiring for the split session location, are you hiring for both sessions?
What duties might a fencing counselor have outside of fencing instruction?
How many counselors are you looking to hire? Would the counselor being teaching studets alone or with a partner? Thru the darkness of Future Past

What he said...also a better idea of pay levels might be nice. Room, board, and a fun playing with kids is all well and good but a whole summer's worth of work is quite a bit of work. I now dangle to the left....my tassle. Get your minds out of the gutter.

Oh, Sorry I forgot there's a cultural gap here. Just for you curiosity, at most US fencing clubs it's the children's programs that pay to keep the doors open. The competition side of the club is usually a/the major pull to get people interested but it's the group lessons and steady income from the children's programs that the club relies upon. -

But the original poster wasn't posting about a fencing club, but a summer camp for children (where fencing was one of many activities).
Though you're quite right, there is a cultural gap here, and it is wide too. -

Here's a link to a very scary website for a summer camp for girls there: http://www.camptapawingo.com/index.asp People would pay even more to send their kids away to camp in the other Sweden if they could.
Summer camp in Sweden. Good times. -

Array I'm working as a fencing coach at a summer camp last year (and this year too), where parents pay $1000 per week per kid. The parents just want to get away.
I could tell you a few horror stories about parents forgetting that they left their kids at camp. You don't know sadness until you see an 11 year old girl sobbing because her parents just decided to spend the week in Milan, and were not there to pick her up, after 6 weeks of camp. "I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. And from this side only! The flight of a half-man, half-bird. Dinosaurs nuzzling their young in pastures where strip malls should be. Cookies on dowels. All those moment, lost in time. Gone, like eggs off a hooker's stomach. Time to die" -Phil Ken Sebben -

Summer camp in Sweden. Good times. Are there any camps in China, Norway, Poland, Mexico, Denmark or Peru?
I know there's one in Naples.

We are hiring 1 counselor for each campus. The job consists of teaching the children the proper techniques of fencing. It will be your program and you can make it a fun as you want, with safety in mind. You must do the full summer, June 26th - August 19th. Pay ranges from 1500 - 2300 for the summer, depending on age and experience. A large number of our staff are international, so you get the chance to meet people from all over the world. Any other questions let me know. -

That is one of the most depressing things I've ever read on f.net.
