    Wrinkles in the Jacket

    Hey all,

I currently own a blue-gauntlet jacket, cotton- with a stretchable back, your very basic starter one. It seems everytime I wear it there are wrinkles in the sleeve of my fencing arm. I wash the jacket and everything, but is it b/c it's cotton, bad material, or just the low quality of the jacket. I am looking for a new jacket, an FIE one, because I want it to last for a while. Do you think that there will be a wrinkling issue with the FIE jacket. I am worried about this because since I fence epee, my opponents tip can slide on my arm and get stuck in the wrinkle and push in. With a non-wrinkling jacket, this surely will be less of a problem.

Any info or help is appreciated
    Thanks!

I have the same jacket, pretty much. I have slight issues with that, but not a great deal, as my jacket is a pretty good fit, for right now. I had one that was much too large, it was highly annoying how hittable my arm was. If you want to avoid wrinkles, you could just get a tightly fitting stretch jacket.

No. At least I've never had such a problem with any of my FIE jackets. (I'm on my 3rd now.)

If you can afford it, go for a stretchy jacket. There a little more expensive than the regular FIE's but it's reeeeeally worth it.

You mean all-around stretchy jackets, i though those didn't breathe well... hmmm. Which jackets would you suggest? I don't want to get super high end. Just a nice fitting, durable, breathable, non-wrinkled awesome jacket.
    suggestions?

Are you suggesting your current cotton jacket breathes well?
Basically any FIE jacket will be wonderful and way better than your current jacket. The Leon Paul jackets are said to have a wicking inner layer of some sorts.

I've had Allstar jackets before and am currently using an Uhlmann 'Olympia'. I love it. Look around to see which brand fits you -- and your wallet. I'm sure you'll find something suitable.

Don't forget to have a look in the Eqipment Reviews section. Happy shopping.
