| I saw the US fencers listed 1-8 before reading the rest of the post and thought "That's an awfully unlikely result in a GP"... |

| Mattern, Thompson, and Greenhouse make it through to the second day. Kelsey had a bye to the second day, of course.

| Kolobkov seems to be peaking nicely, and at the right time. Perhaps I should add "as usual".
Nice run by Soren, beating Milanoli 15/5, and then almost beating J. Jeannet (15/14).

| Man, Kolobkov is a sneaky one. I had totally counted him out. I'd love to see him come out of nowhere and win. |

| Soren Thompson places 14th. Soren beat Seth (15-14). I understand that Soren was down 14-12. Then Soren beat Milanoli (15-4 or 5) to make the top 16 and then met J. Jeannette and lost a close one at 15-14. to go to the 8s.
The team event is Sunday and that is the important one! |

| Ok, so our team is fencing off for 5th and Venezuela is fencing off for 11th. We are 12 points back in the FIE standings. Will 6 positions net the team 12 more points than Venezuela?

| The difference between 5th and 11th appears to be 9 points in GP team competition.
