Any news about results for Americans? FIE site has nothing yet, although individual has been over for hours.

6, Aldo Montano (ITA);
7, Boris Sanson (FRA)
8, Tamas Decsi (HUN)

QUARTER: Luigi Tarantino (ITA) b. Boris Sanson (FRA) 15-6; Jorge Pina (ESP) b. Aldo Montano (ITA) 15-11.

SEMIFINAL: Luigi Tarantino (ITA) b. Woo Young Won (KOR) 15-14.

FINAL: Luigi Tarantino (ITA) b. Jorge Pina (ESP) 15-14.

Holy crap; how the hell can Tarantino win a GP? Wow.

I heard the best American result was James Williams in the 16, followed by Keeth in the 32... I think one other person made 32 and everyone else 64 or below, but I'm not sure.

That's always the way tho in high level competition. If you just looked at results without bout scores you would assume that the scores were more lopsided than they usually are, just because certain people tend to finish better than certain people. But it's always very precarious.

And yeah, wow. That's impressive from tarantino - talk about peaking at the right time. I mean he was world champion, so he's obviously got it in him...but still, impressive..

I remember seeing videos from the 2002 WC where the italian team was smoked by the russians. Tarantino was the anchor and boy, did he look like an anchor. Overweight and out of shape (or so the looks of it). He just couldn't move.

I can sympathize with him.

Morehouse lost to Tarantino in the 64. What an unlucky draw!

Heard MS team finished 13, losing to Italy 41-45
