There's other things I guess are worth mentioning, but I couldn't really get a feel for the scope you were aiming for in the guide. Other people have mentioned repachage's general irrelevance, but if more is better than less, I figure I'll throw stuff out and see what sticks.

The morning meetings

The first big mistake I made at my first event was not checking in at the morning referee meeting on the second day of the NAC. I was waiting around downstairs while Sharon was calling role at breakfast. No good.

referee check-in times

Possibly include a note somewhere about the list that's posted at the end of each day indicating the time check in for referee's the following day. At JO's the idea was that if your name wasn't listed for a different time, to be there at the earliest time.

Before you go to work

Some good advice Jay Choi shared with me a while back was to take a moment before you go to your pool or pad to collect your thoughts and prepare yourself. Make sure you have everything you need, like a pencil and a clipboard for the scoresheet, and really begin to referee once you're ready.

My to-do list is:

1) Wait for feedback to stop rolling in
2) Incorporate feedback/changes
3) Get Sabre and Penalties sections written
4) Final copy edit
5) Release final version

I expect all that to take approximately one month, at which time you can expect to see the final version.
