USACFC Competition Schedule and Participants List

Would anyone have any info regarding the event schedule for the upcoming USACFC Championships as well as what clubs are participating this year?

Thanks!

does your avatar mean that Emory is planning on attending?

Just curious, as I'm putting together a list of colleges with competitive teams for my high school program.

As entry fees aren't due until tomorrow, give us a couple days, and we can tell you what schools.

The event schedule?

The EVENT SCHEDULE?????

..... You're new. When it comes to schedule..... the conference is a bit challenged. But I imagine it'll follow this vague pattern:

Womens team pools. Mens team pools. Women's elimination to the 16, mens elimination to the 16. (day break here?) Women's top 16, Men's top 16. Women's and Mens Individuals, Unless they randomly decide that individuals should be at some other random time without warning everyone IN individuals.

Yeah, are you guys hiring refs? It's a long trip, but if you can fly me out I'd be glad to.

I've been told that they don't want to fly in any refs, as there are plenty of referees in New England. that makes perfect sense to me, but doesn't jive with what I've heard from the refs I know: None have been asked.

The existance of plenty of refs in New England and not hiring them is perfectly congruent. Just not with a lower cost, actually present, referee cadre.

true, but my point is that the person hiring the referees has told others that they're not flying anybody in, but also hasn't been hiring the good local referees.

this leads me to the conclusion that one of two things is true:
1) He hasn't hired anybody yet. This is a MASSIVE problem.
or
2) He's hired less qualified local referees, which is a true waste.

It's Jon.

I'm about ready to kill him.

....................

I would love to release this message---

"The USACFC will not be running a tournament at Smith the weekend that's been released. Instead, I'll be holding a tournament that's strangely similar...... Here's a list of people not allowed on campus. {insert list}. Public Safety has been notified, and will be on watch. I've hired competent people, and I've hired them ahead of time. The USACFC can go screw."

Yes, I am new to the USACFC format and yes, Emory does plan on attending next year.

Thanks for the info one and all, any other feedback is greatly appreciated!

To provide some balance: It's a lot of fun, and it's a great development tournament. However, there are always a few ... challenges.... along the way, and you've managed to find well.. me--- I wasn't supposed to have quite this much responsibility over these things, and then there was hell, and a handbasket, and it's all been quite unfortunate.

Under control, just sometimes I don't go to pratice because I'm too busy catching up.

Jon asked me about reffing this months ago - but I haven't heard anything since. I am still planning to ref if asked, as my newborn should be used to a bottle by then - and I really need to get out of the house.

Yes, refereeing all weekend seems like a nice vacation after adjusting to life with a newborn for 12 straight days.

How many of these schools are new (new = did not attend last year or when they were at UNH (last northeast venue))?

I know Rutgers for one, obviously.

Which SUNY? I know it's not Albany, but New Paltz, Stony Brook (I think), and Oneanta all having fencing clubs. My guess would be New Paltz.

Stonybrook has attended previously, I'd assume it's them again.
