    A Re-Introduction

Aloha, folks. I haven't been on the boards in quite a while, mainly because I was busy finishing up my undergraduate degree. I'm trying to make a return to fencing, which has fallen by the wayside in the past six months as I became a real live scientist, found an apartment, and moved to Northern Virginia.

As a sabreur, I'm working on acquiring the rest of my gear--I used to bum a lot of stuff from my college clubs when I was a dumb, broke student--so I have a bit of time to scope out the field in terms of clubs. I've done some researching and fact-finding, and have narrowed down my options to:
    • DC Fencing Club - Silver Spring, MD
    • NIH Fencing Club - Kensington, MD
    • Virginia Academy of Fencing - Springfield, VA

I'm looking for any insight you might be able to provide regarding these clubs, including traffic and Metro accessability... if you know DC, you know what traffic is like. I work in downtown DC and live in Fairfax, so commuting is a serious consideration.

Thanks, and have a good week, folks!

    You're fencing again! Hooray!

I can't speak for sabre, but for epee I'd take DCFC down there.

You could also shoot Army Fencer or seak a PM.

Trojan MD is at DCFC IIRC, she perhaps can give you her opinion. I know from reffing some kids from there that the coach is a good guy and produces a good product
Go to the well until the well is dry. When the well is dry find a new well.

Thanks for the info, you two... looks like I've got some PMing to do.

Sean, how are you liking SF?
