any way to keep FIE Plastron unwrinkly?

Got new Allstar FIE Plastron. Very wrinkly - says do not iron. Any suggestions for storing (in locker) or washing to help?

In locker: Hang on coat hanger, eg. under your jacket.
In bag: Roll it up. (Ie. do not fold it.)
After washing: Just normal air dry should be ok. Hang on coat hanger or just on the 'rope' (whatever it's called in english).

I've never had a problem with my Allstar plastron being wrinkly, but possibly they've changed the FIE material in the past ~15 years.

I would just say to hang it up on a rack or hanger. I have a leon paul FIE and it does just fine like that.

You could possibly try steaming it. That usually helps get wrinkles out.

It sounds like it's too late now, but in the future always wash it in cold water and never put it in the dryer.

Why does it matter if it's wrinkly, anyway? It does go UNDER your jacket... Out of sight...

    My two cents =D

True. But perhaps the wrinkles are so big that it's just uncomfortable to wear it? I don't know...

You could also try taking it to a local dry cleaner and ask them what to do. I wouldn't recommend leaving it with them as I don't trust them.

Thanks for the help with the wrinkles

No haven't washed it yet - will try to do that
Got balled up in the bag just after wear - now that's treatment!
Now have a hanger and will try that after I hand wash in cold - hang dry

I have a garment steamer that works on everything. It was about $25 at the drugstore and it's perfect if you hate ironing. You can also try hanging it in a steam filled bathroom. Or you can put an iron on wool and shoot the steam from the iron at it but DON'T TOUCH IT TO THE FABRIC!. Some fabrics will melt instantly and I do mean instantly. I've heard good things about Downy Wrinkle Releaser, but never tried it myself. In the future, roll it after use but don't leave it rolled up and wet.

I have two Allstar 800N plastrons. Just make sure you shake out all the wrinkles after washing and smooth as much as possible and then hang to dry and you should have no issues. BTW i machine wash mine with the rest of my kit. Life is too short for hand washing.
