Array My turn to go away! I'll only be gone for the weekend. Just don't marry Moon off or make Ken-Dall do whatever Ken-Dall does without me! "Words are, of course, the most powerful drug used by mankind."

Array Rayen's out of town starting tommorow, until...two weeks from tommorow. Then I'm out of town for two weeks starting the day before she gets back. Wonderful, huh? Array May I join in the revolt? I'm leaving on Monday for roughly a week to a week and a half. Net access is 'patchy at best' but I'll try. Don't do anything that Rosaline wouldn't do. hmmm not exactly great advice is it?

Array Geeze, Swordsman and Rayen. My deepest sympathies to both of you. I was away from my love for 4 days and I almost went nuts. I wouldn't even want to think about 4 weeks of absense. ... without remorse for the past, confident in the present, and full of hope for the future, [d'artagnan] went to bed and slept the sleep of the brave.

Array Yeah, it's hard to be separated from the one I love. My husband had to be away from me when I was pregnant with our first baby, thanks to the military. He was gone for a couple months, until I was about 5 months pregnant, then we had a month together, then he left when I was 6 months pregnant and didn't come home until our baby was 4 weeks old. Then, after I had our second baby, she was 2 weeks old and he had to go away for 5 weeks. When he was on a boat, he would go out for roughly 6 weeks and be in port for roughly 6 weeks. Land duties aren't much better, sometimes. He would have to go out of town to service the boats around the rivers and such. This duty station is MUCH better. He's home by about 4:30 every day, almost. I, myself, don't have a lot of time to post right now. First, the 3 kids had swimming lessons, and now my youngest is facing surgery for tubes in her ears and my oldest two have to see a Urologist for urine reflux. It's always something. Array Yep, that's a military family alright. I still get a weird feeling in my stomach every time I hear "Cat's in the Cradle" by Cat Stevens. Especially this year - when Dad was home on the Fourth of July, and I was working - and heard that song. And people wonder why I don't want to go career... Array Okay, back from a "lovely" "vacation"...ha ha...
Trust me folks, being a railroad wife isn't any easier than being a military wife. Hubby went away to an absolutely POINTLESS week long class two weeks ago. He's had to go for these week long classes approximately every year, but it's not easy. He's also on the safety committee, & goes to overnight meetings. Plus, he's on call 24/7. They even call him when he takes a vacation day. Nothing like being in the middle of something & having him run out. Blah.
Anyway, I can relate. Even in a small way. "Words are, of course, the most powerful drug used by mankind."
