    Recycling Containers

Many compliments and thanks to whoever was responsible for the recycling receptacles at the convention center in Charlotte.
Hopefully all future USFA events will have recycling containers.

(I also posted this on the official JO thread.)

I thought Charlotte was a great site for JO's. I only have two VERY MINOR concerns. (1) The venue needed another set of restrooms downstairs. (2) Those pods where the referees were back to back and spectators were crowded down at the end of the strip were somewhat inconvenient.

But then I remember JO's at the Broadmoor in Colorado Springs and the strip layout there and realize this was a very minor inconvenience. (For those who don't know, the Broadmoor venue required a half mile walk across the hotel property to get to the saber strips and there were numerous strips at the main venue where nobody except the fencers could get to the strips.)

I would have no objections to returning to Charlotte.

Have not been to JOs in a long time. This was definitely better than previous JOs. The weapon check was great - never a really really long line. I ended up walking from one end of downtown - marriott residence to days inn a bunch of times at night and it was all pretty ok. We don't eat out much at tournaments but other people really liked some of the resturants.
I also thought it was a stroke of genius to announce the lost and found.

The venue was pretty good, the food was decent and not excessively over priced.

The trolley was helpful too for lugging bags from one end of town to another.

I would like another tournament in Charlotte. Lot different than nationals in 2004 .....
