FWF Foil points & screws

Has anyone else had problems with FWF's French-copy foil points and screws?
Regular french screws don't fit, they're too small. Neither will the German screws-they're not countersunk.
And so, if it's not my imagination, then what does work?? And does anyone know of a supplier for their french-copy screws??

I theory you should be able to get FWF screws from whoever you got the points from. Maybe a call or line in the comments section letting them know exactly what you want would be in order. Also I would suggest that if you are going with FWF tips, you should really consider just going with the Next Generation German style points and not messing with the French design...

quick question here:

I've got the new german points, but i had to rewire one recently and came up with a small problem. The plastic cup seems to be stuck in the barrel and cannot be removed by pushing it out through the bottom. (the metal 'nipple' just pops out and the hole at the bottom is the exact same size as the hole in the clip). any tips on how to get it out? i'd hate to have to ditch the barrel.

Happens all the time...get a longer probe than the screwdriver is...put in through the bottom at an angle so you punch against the bottom of the cup...you may need to tap it a few times before it starts coming out.

Glad you got it out. Sometimes, inexperienced armorers will allow glue to wick up the groove and actually glue the cup to the blade. Usually, you can't push it out. The solution is to soak the barrel in acetone, or heat it up with a heat gun to break the glue bond.
