| Are you talking about sport or classicla fencing? If it's sport, you can easily look up a club where you can get lessons at www.usfa.org . Click on members, then there's a thing that says something like "where can I fence?" or "club in your area", and go from there. Good luck!\
It's very hard to learn from books because you get no actual experience fencing with other people for a while, so I also say you should get a coach. But whatever goes, goes.

#3 | | Guest | Sounds like you've been reading Evangelista. He is totally classical fencing. The basics are pretty much the same, but I believe that most people here are sport fencers. Reading is good, but it can tell you things you are not ready for and it gives you no real experience. The only way to get good is to DO IT. Do what Foil Girl told you and find a club. Then check out the coaches. Ask if they are instructors, teachers, maestros,or coaches etc. See if they have their coaching certificate. Take some real lessons and then fence evreybody in the club.
Most of all have fun!

| you should put this post in the fencing forum rather than the fantasy forum. Fencing masters are not easy to find, you might need to enroll in a summer camp in france or italy in order to get a better idea of what a fencing master is, and how to blend classical and sport fencing together. Good Luck! |

| You have to do something cool to become a knight (like rescue the webmaster or something). Heck, I don't know how I, as the Royal Scribe, became a knight.
There IS a big war brewing with the forces from Muu (that's Fencing Angel's daddy's group...long story). Maybe after that there can be a knighting.

| You'll need to sign a waiver before you can battle for Arconia. Can't have the kingdom sued if your killed maimed or injured.

| latenight,
Could you please refer NewKnight15 to some kind of family court in order to send him to a state-run learning center for the mentally-handicapped?
He has the IQ of frickin' cactus.

| Latenight, you need to consider taking Space to court. How does he know anyones IQ? Im the first to consider who gets knighted. The Queen is second to consider an Arconians worth as a knight. She looks at the basic things ....such as honesty, bravery, loyality, etc. Right now there is one Arconian thats being seriously considered for Knighthood. That person is Dame. |

| Being that this is a fantasy world, I know people's IQs.
Take arcon for example.
I'm... trying to... get arcon's IQ.... but... but... something's not...hmmm, okay... I'm sensing seventy... no, sixty-five... Okay, it's forty-five! Whew, I was getting mixed signals from a nearby guinea pig whose IQ is seventy.

| There are currently no laws on the books about stating the perceived IQ of a person by another person, with or without formal training in the field of IQ testing, My King. As Monarch, you are free to create such a law, should you desire. However, it would go against Arconia's historical precident of free speech.
Should you create such a law, It would not apply to Space as his transgression was before the law was on the books. It would, however, apply to all future incidents and the local constable would be free to arrest and arrange a trial
Always at your service,
Sir Latenight Esq
