Plasti dip for grips.

I am looking for a way to color/insulate my grips realitively inexpensively (mostly to set them apart visually from the people I fence with's weapons, as all of the lefties seem to use belgian grips). How does the spray on Plasti Dip work for this purpose?

I did a search, but most of the threads seemed to have this offered as a solution, but none of the posts seem to say how well it worked, etc.

I know paint works, but it also comes off rather easily. I'm looking for somthing that is more permanent.

My fear is that, because it remains stretchy, it will slip and come loose after use.
