Mod underarm protector

I bought an under arm protetor recently. I like everything aout it except the buckle on the bottom piece of elastic isn't very strong and will frequently pop out and leave the plastron dangling from the neck strap, not very comfortable. Anyways, I was thinking of taking the clip off and sewing on some heavy duty velcro to the plastron and to the elastic. Is this a good idea or should I go ahead and just send it back to teh compnay and get a new one?

Adding velcro or the like is absolutely fine.

Why not? Many other lames have the same configuration, right?

(I'm not sure I'm visualizing what you are)

So long as you don;t change the protective nature of teh protector (specifically the location of the seams) you're fine. The proposed changes listed here for fit are not a problem.

I believe he is referring to the "plumbers butt" region.

My plastron uses velcro, and my lame uses a "quick release snapping buckle" (as described in PBT's product page). I much prefer that over the d-ring my jacket has.
