I have an unopened pair of Adidas 3 stripe fencing socks labeled size S3a...

I thought these socks' sizing were normally labeled with roman numerals...

Does S3a mean III?

??? The socks come with labels for the sizes in Europe/US/and UK. I have a pair that's S5a (on back). It's labeled as US 11-12 1/2 (in front).

But just to double check, on mine the S5a is on the back label, the US size is on the front label (top, right).
