| Back to Work for Lady Moon Lady Moon did not wish to return to the castle at Arconia after her heavenly retreat to the mountains, yet she knew she must. Upon entering the gates, she noted how quite the small streets were.
Queen Zelda sauntered up to her, a content look upon her personage. "Good day, Lady Moon. I see you have returned from your rest refreshed."
"Aye, Queen...but where is everyone? What is going on?"
The queen chuckled. "Silly. I would have thought you of all people would remember. They have gone to the grand tournament in the west."
Slapping her head, Lady Moon said, "That's right! I was supposed to go, but could not afford the trip. There is simply too much to do here." Then she looked at the queen, who still smiled. "But why are you looking so happy?"
"Ahh," replied Queen Zelda, "'tis because it is so quiet here. We needed it."

| My Lady Moon, I am contemplating some changes to the decor at the palace. Would you care to help me choose some colours for the spare rooms along with furniture and soft furnishings?

| she stepped into the palour and scanned the new decor; richly appointed in small donut shaped cushions with which to sit upon, the queen selected a soft velvet one and gently sat upon it. "Zelda" spake Moon, the cushion you are seated upon is truly wonderful, truly a cushion of authority!" She walked swiftly toward the window box, the spring sun streaming through, and sat upon it. A small grey kitten jumped up on her lap and fell promptly asleep. A cool breeze wafed through the partially opened window and brought in the scent of newly tilled soil. They both watched the gardener plant tuplip bulbs for a few moments and waited for Attila to bring in their morning tea. "Tisk" sighed Zelda, "i dare not interfere with the gardener, however, he is planting tulip bulbs out of season". The door swung open, Atilla entered carrying a full tray of goodies, scones, cream hot water, tea, sugar, silver spoons, and butter. "Well" said the Queen, "let him plant the things, he'll see it in a few months".

| Your Highness, with all due respect, I am not all that good with decorating, & girly things like that. Have you seen my chamber lately? I give the maids a FIT because of my "decorating style." My Lady Willow is more suited to such things. I was hoping to work on my jousting while the others were gone.

| GOOD! I was hoping you would say no... I cant STAND choosing colours. Mango you like that type of thing...could you do it please? The spare bedrooms, the 2nd drawing room and the parlour need doing if you dont mind. I'm off to potter in the garden, maybe plant some pansies and practise my point control.

| "Oh, Lady Willow!" Lady Moon called. Her friend poked her head out of one of the doors. "Come hold this shield while I run at it with a lance."
"Are you crazy!" Lady Willow exclaimed. It was more of a statement than a question, & caught Lady Willow completely off guard. "Why would I do that?"
"I need practice. You're the only one around. Angel & the girls ran off doing goodness knows what, & the others went to that tournament in the west. I'm getting bored." Lady Moon replied.
Willow rolled her eyes. "You always were a high maintenence princess."
"Shh...someone may hear you. As far as Arconia is concerned, I am a knight & a scribe. Nothing else. If a spy should hear you.." Moon started.
"You've already been found out," reminded Willow. "Need I remind you that spies have worked to call attention to your whereabouts, & the King of Muu still has a price on your head?"
"She is right about that," a new voice interrupted.
Moon & Willow spun in the direction of the statement. A man appeared from the brush. "You!" Lady Moon gasped.

| Moon and the Queen enjoyed their tea, and watched the morning sun grow stronger. "Moon" said the Queen, "let me show you around the palace, I'm having it done and you might have some ideas" they got up from their chairs and started walking around the palace. Queen Zelda led Moon into a hallway and paused in front of an open door, "this is our spare guestroom" she waved in, I'm having it redone in yellows, creams, light oranges" The room was draped in white drop cloths and several workmen rolled cream colored paint up and down the walls. "I'm going through a few pattern books now and Arco Department Store sent me some swatches" Moon oohed and aaaaahed over the selections, and commented on the Queens choices, "such a nice bright palate! it will look so charming!" "Thank you" said the QUeen, "I don't really like to use dark colors except in libraries, which is in the next room" They walked over toward another room that was of in a state of redecoration. It had no motiff and didn't look very inviting. Attila lumbered down the hallway toward the women and informed them that a person called swordsman was waiting in the parlour, and did they wish to see him. Moon mentioned another appointment and let zelda take care of her new visitor. "oh, don't go yet, have another cup of tea, I really don't want to visit with swordsman too long" Zelda and moon moved downstairs and entered the parlour, Attila ajusted the draperies and poured another cup of tea for the three of them. He then went out into the yard and told the yardman to pull up all the tuplip bulbs and plant irisis instead. He thought the irisis would be a good accent for the spare bedroom he spotted upstairs.

| Willow glared at the man who stood in front of Lady Moon. She knew him all too well. "Lord Tellurine, what are you doing here? I was released from your service many years ago." (ps...auditions for Lord Tellurine are being held now)
He gave a wicked grin, not to Willow, but to Lady Moon. "'Tis not you I've come for Lady Willow, but your mistress...the little princess that has given my king such grief." He looked her up and down in her knickers and tunic. "There is a pretty penny offered for you, Your Highness. It should keep me well when you have been delivered."
"That is impossible. I will not be 'delivered' by you or anyone else." Lady Moon growled. She reached for her weapon, but his icy words stopped her cold.
"I would not do that, Highness. The price is substantially less if I bring you back dead." The women knew he meant it. He had been the king of Muu's champion for many seasons.
"Arconia will not have you take her scribe." Willow stated.
"Or a knight in His Majesty's service," added Lady Moon.
Lord Tellurine began to laugh. "A knight? You? HA! Stick to writing, princess." When his laughter turned to snickers, he said, "Come, let us meet the ruler of this fair land." He drew his dagger. Like lightning's strike, he stood inches from Lady Moon's face. "You will escort me, will you not?"
After exchanging a glance at Willow, Moon gulped & nodded, then began to walk toward the castle, with Willow following. They found Queen Zelda in her sitting room. She stood when she saw Lady Moon with a tall, sinister looking man.
"Who is this?" the Queen asked with a pleasant smile. As close as Moon & her "guest" stood, Zelda thought the two might be courting.
"I..." Moon began. A poke at her back from Tellurine's dagger jolted her. "This is Lord Tellurine, Queen Zelda. He is..." Another poke. "A friend."
"Oh good. Would you like some tea? Crumpets?" Zelda offered.
Tellurine laughed. "That is not what I had in mind..."

| The look in Moons eyes told me that appearances can be decieving. Still I was not going to judge a book by its cover.
"Why Lord Tellurine, please sit down and partake of afternoon tea with us. It is not often we get visitors of such stature in Arconia, at least ones who are willing to tell us immeadiately who they are..."
I saw both Moon and Willow flush at this remark, and I saw Lord Tellurine squirm, which made me wonder, "Why is he here???"
My musing were cut short by the noisy clatter of the portico being lowered and the hum of the hydraulics lifting the drawbridge. At the same moment a courtier burst into the room....
"Your Majesty, its Angel, he is here, and he is hurt!!!"
"Angel??? But he should be back in the forest, with Jo and Serena....what is he doing here? You said he was hurt?"
"Yes Ma'm, there is blood everywhere in the forecourt."
"Did he say anything? What happened?"
"All he said was to raise the defences... the Muu warriors are approaching....."
I saw Moon and Willow look at Lord Tellurine as he turned pale. There was something not "quite" right about this... I just couldnt put my finger on it. I wish the King would return from the tourney in the City of Dimming lights.... He can see these things so much clearer then I.
Maybe if I could get Lord Tellurine alone.....suddenly it occured to me that Moon was standing slightly infront of our visitor when she introduced him. She knew the protocol, visitors were presented before they entered the room. Moon and Willow must be either hiding something or being threatened.
I turned to them..."Willow, go see if you can help Angel, Moon, please go and find Angels companions and take them to my private chambers. I will be with you shortly."
I turned to Lord Tellurine, "Please exuse me, I must find out what has happened..."
I then ushered Moon and Willow out of the room, following them.....
"Right you two, do what I said and get back to my rooms with Jo and Serena as soon as you can.... I want to know what is happening....take the back stairs from the kitchen that come out behind that knight and peacock tapestry in my training room....I'll see you in 10 minutes."
As they rushed off I slipped a key out of my pocket and locked the door of the reception room. Just in case.

| "well, a little squabble never hurt anything" ventured Mango, we win some and lose some. "All in all" (said this fountain of cliches), "there ain't nothing like the real thing baby" They all walked out into the garden to look at Angel and check out the Muus".
The Muus were gaining ground and Angel was not in very good shape. The three of them hurled rocks at the Muus while grabbing a hold of Angel and carrying him into the newly decorated palour. "i simply can't believe it!" exclaimed Mango, "i just had this room completely re-done and look what the muus went and done, they wrecked up angel" Moon ran into the other room in a fit of hysteria while Zelda rang the tea bell. As Attila entered bearing yet another tray of scones and coddled cream, she said "Attila", as she ripped cotton bandages out of the new drapes "see if you can run and find the Dr. from the Fresca thread" Atilla ran out the room and jumped on a horse tied up in the back. Zelda looked out the window "the muus are gaining on us again, Moon! run upstairs and begin your assault with the catapult". Attla was well on his way to reach swordsman, space cadet and other accomplished fighters. Naekos wasn't far from their minds but he may have other fish to fry in other pans. So it appears Moon, Zelda and Mango are holed up in a castle with the Muus fast approaching, does anyone give a flub? are we all working together on this? Angel mumured briefing before passing out "don't worry girls, i think i can make it, the creeps almost....zzzz" "he fell asleep" said zelda. Several moments passed while zelda tended to the injured angel, she turned to the door to admit the doctor from the fresca folder who rapidly assessed and triaged the patient. "he has one chance in a million" he announced, "but I'll be frank ladies, it doesn't look very promising".
Lord Tell-urine, excused himself and flashed his ring. Willow doodled aimlessly with her index finger on the windowsill, while contemplating how the heck to get out of there without looking like she was only concerned for her own skin, and at the same time take care of angel. She thought she could jump out the window, throw a few rocks at the muus, and jump on a horse to find help. Without thinking of her own safety, she bolted the tea down, and jumped out the window in a blink. Zelda almost had a fit, but Mango stopped her, "zel, don't worry, i know where's she's going, for a brief moment i saw the face of Naekos" Willow rode through the bridge.
MOON: I'M GOING WITH A GONE WITH THE WIND THEME IN THIS, I'M HAVING TROUBLE WITH THE CATAPULT DRAWBRIDGE MATERIAL....BUT WE CAN SAVE IT.
By the way Moon, the work Dune was co-authored by two people, I'm looking to co-author some stuff.

| Little did the ladies of the castle know, but Lord Tellurine was a master of lock picking. He escaped into the darkest reaches of the castle easily, to await his attack.
"So, the little prince of Muu is here. This should make things VERY entertaining..."

| something happed to the thread:
she walked into the hallway.....
then someone ran into the hallway barefoot,
then we had her say: the floor is too darn cold...(by the way: fencing has become such a way of life for some of us we simply write metaphorically, hallway http://www.fencing.net/forum/tongue.gifiste etc) |
