Array Respect for your thread Every ones input is appreciated.
If you start a thread with a storyline, you are entitled to pursue it. As long as it falls within the fantasy land guidelines.
You should be the one to end it. Not someone else. Unless of course its agreed upon.
I think at some point we should have that writers meeting Sword spoke of a few weeks back to establish some guidelines that will better organize the writing between us.
Dont confuse this with red tape or censorship
IT IS NOT!
My first suggestion .....is do your homework..
Check the threads , read the post before you imbark upon your story. This will go a long way in preventing mixups.....and confused plots.
DONT END SOMEONES ELSES THREAD. Is also one of my strong suggestions....

Array One thing that I think will really help to lessen confusion, and make writing here much more fun:
We always have so many storylines going on here...remember "Aftermath"? That lasted 5 pages. Why? Number of characters. Nękos, Jo, Angelo. Serana added later. A few other characters jumped in and out, bit parts, but did little besides contribute dialogue. Some of the threads now have pretty much EVERYBODY in them, running every which way. Try to separate them; stand out. If everybody's doing this over here, go over there and start something else. If somebody pulls you into a thread, too, maybe stay there for a little. And if they don't pull you in, maybe stay where you are. This means fewer people will kind of take charge of the rest, but as threads end and begin, it will rotate.
Another idea: Instead of threads for each storyline, what about for places? We've kind of done that with "The Bitter End Pub". We could have seperate threads for the ball, the castle, Nękos' place, various sections of the woods, the village, etc. Then just go from thread to thread as your story progresses. Just as long as you still keep your storyline somewhat seperate.
Just two ideas to settle this down. Tell me what you think. Perhaps this could be the thread for the writer's conference. It is the soldier, not the reporter, who has given us the freedom of the press. It is the soldier, not the poet, who has given us the freedom of speech. It is the soldier, not the campus organizer, who gives us the freedom to demonstrate. It is the soldier who salutes the flag, who serves beneath the flag, and whose coffin is draped by the flag, who allows the protestor to burn the flag. - Father Dennis Edward O'Brien, USMC -

Array Sword, your Places idea is excellent. I think it would really really help with continutety problems. I mean I know I lost myself for awhile there (I think I was in about 3 places at once!) and I only got out of it by being 'lost" in the back passages of the castle. For a queen that aint a good showing!!! Theses are evil....VERY evil, someone rescue me pls! -

Array I would like to point out, without getting too involved in this thread, that in terms of writing, please consult characters (those portraying characters) before including a major plot twist.
Also, make sure that you pay close attention to what is going on in the threads. It becomes very confusing when one is expected to be in 3 places at once, as Zelda pointed out. This isn't suggesting that people tell others what to write...it is suggesting that some writers have specific plans they'd like to carry out. Otherwise, have fun! Array Thanks. It would really help if we could get the writing under control. You know what's interesting? I've checked out several sites designed for role-playing like we do. But they all suck! This is the best role-playing forum I've yet found!

Array Hey now go us! j/k I'm not in a very writing mood tonight, so I wont be adding anything anywhere. (I don't think.) Any ways I agree I've jumped in to a lot of thigs just going by the seat of my pants. This I know is wrong, and yes. I am working on it!
Oh one more thing. If you guys see something that you think would. .'better' my writing. Please feal free to let me know. I've had a few people do just that. No matter if someone sounds rude or just plain silly. It really helps. (I find the rude and silly ones to be better that the rest. That's just my opinion though.)

Array okay arcon, i sort of agree, sort of, however, i have a propensity for writing the very last word, i'll try not to anymore. -

Array Remember, Arcon, a woman always has the last word in any arguement.
Whatever a man says after that is the beginning of the NEXT arguement. Nothing is more frightening than ignorance in action. -

Array Correct Loch! Id rather let Mango have the last word than to have her dagger in my
heart.

I dunno about you guys, but since the school year started I've only been able to check the internet like every 3 days or so, and usually on weekends. Because of that I have no idea whatsoever where I am or what the plot is or what serana's doing. So, maybe I should drop out? We could also do someting where you guys could write her in wherever, then promise to update me, but that might be too much of a hassle for you guys. I'm not sure what to do... -Foil Girl

Array Well, I certainly hope you don't drop out, FoilGirl. Serana is a rather important character for me right now. When I return, I intend to start another plot line, grab a few characters, and get away from the rest a little. I also intend to take Serana. I can write it such that you won't fall too far behind in between when you check.

Array Two things: First, FoilGirl. I really want to use your character. If you don't think you can post that much, maybe you could let me just take control of Serana for a bit? You can have her back whenever you want.
Second: Let's keep these clean. I'm posting this here only because "Aftermath of the collapse" was - wisely - locked. So far, we've managed to keep any real kind of sexuality out of the story. I think we should keep it that way. I vote we consider those last few posts as having never happened.
I say this not for censoring, but because I think Fantasy Land will be better for it. One is hard-pressed these days to find anything really morally pure. That's one reason I liked Fantasy Land: Whereas even King Arthur had marital problems, Arcon and Zelda were good. No matter what happened, Arconia remained noble. Now we've lost that. I say we get it back. - Father Dennis Edward O'Brien, USMC -
I'll post when I can. For instance, I'll be online most weekends. So that's probably when I coudl post. -Foil Girl

Array Then, may I take some control of Serana in the meantime? It is the soldier, not the reporter, who has given us the freedom of the press. It is the soldier, not the poet, who has given us the freedom of speech. It is the soldier, not the campus organizer, who gives us the freedom to demonstrate. Array Oh Yeah!
Respect your thread!
Caress it. Hug it. Kiss it. And on those cold and lonely nights... aw yeah, you know what I'm talkin' 'bout.
Oh, you don't know what I'm talkin' 'bout? Well, basically, you just caress, hug and kiss it some more. Not whatever your dirty, dirty mind was thinking. Similar Threads -
