| Well i am also looking for new FIE jacket, and i think eventually i am going to go for Allstar, but the problem is i dunno which one yet.
The Athens one has a nice tight fit, but does anyone know how it feels while you fence?? |

If ours shrank and theirs didn't then you washed ours too hot I suspect. |

| I had a non-stretch jacket, and (I'm a girl) now that I have a stretch one I love it. ^.^;;
quick question: do you all like using the knickers with panels or not?
I'm hoping to buy a new pair and don't know the ups and downs of that. My current knickers do have panels, although I've noticed them being very restrictive lately. I want to buy a stretchier pair that wouldn't restrict my lunge at all. |

I'm female too and stretch breeches is really worth the extra money. Trust me.

| Soudet!!!
Great jacket, very comfortable, had it for years. Hard to get. I also think the other manufacturers have caught up comfort-wise.
One drawback: every year it shrinks a little bit more. I don't understand it.
Matching that with the Negrini FIE plastron makes for a very light and non-restrictive combination.
It may be time to retire them, though. Almost eight years of sweat and blood have probably rendered them less than protective.
I'll probably go for 350N stuff until I can figure out this annual clothing shrinkage issue and get it under control.

| I haven't gotten around to buying the LP jacket but have the Atlanta range pants. I love the buttons - no more blown out velcro. |

| I quite like the Atlanta range kit but it runs a little short/wide for me.
I really wish they'd make a "tall" cut. Hint hint.
I'm really not especially tall nor exceedingly skinny.
Yeah, I would get a custom jacket but it sounds like they're busy as
they wouldn't make a jacket for me until summer. |

| I am thinking of investing in a FIE jacket recently too...and to my surprise, there is this topic with FIE jackets, woot!
So I am undecided whether I should invest in a PBT superlight or a LP Atlanta. I mentioned PBT mainly because I already have a 350 N one and I know my size already - it already fits fine with my 350 N one. The zipper has started to show some wear and tear after 4 years so I figure buying a FIE jacket would be a good investment. The price is a bit much for the PBT but I'm still looking around.
But I was looking at the stretch panels for those with Atlanta jackets, how are they feeling? Pretty stretchy? Any particular problems? I hear shrinkage was a bit of an issue but then I guess it depends on how careful you follow the washing instructions? :P
I'm also worried about buying a new jacket from a different company (e.g. LP) since I'm below average height (like around 5 feet tall), but have a average build (I'm female). Height is mainly the issue for me, would it be too big, neck too long, too long on the arms, etc...stuff like that.
I took a glance at the Sydney ones, and they look fantastic but the price was pretty intimidating, ugh...Also, since it's stretchy, I guess it won't be as roomier than the Atlanta due to the stretchiness...if this is the case, wouldn't it feel tight (I'm especially worried about the breeches)?
I also hear that for stretch jackets in general, you tend to feel more impact and get more bruises? Is this true??? If so, I guess investing in a stretch might not be as good despite the stretchy, comfortable feel that everyone has been talking about...
Thoughts or comments from those who already own a FIE jacket (preferably PBT or LP) would be great!
Thanks!

| LP has sizing charts that have the waist, chest, arm length, and back measurements for each specific jacket size, and the inseam/etc for the knickers, as well. Helpful when you think you're an unusual size.

| I have the PBT superlight and I love it. The price is a little high in the US (I bought mine in Hungary), but they are nice. I have the old model and I hear the new model uses a full stretch material. Of course, stretch = heavier and one of the things I like best about the superlight is how light it is.
In comparison to other jackets I have seen or used, the superlight is better than the LP Atlanta, worse than the Sydney. Better than the non-stretch Uhlmann/Allstar, and different (neither better nor worse) than the stretch Uhlmann/Allstar. Negrini is better all around than PBT. My Cartel uniform is lighter, but cut funny and not as well made.

| I have the LP "Sydney" jacket and breeches. Cannot fault them in the least. Great fit. Extremely well made and finished. I also have an Allstar FIE jacket I have had for 25 years and it is still going strong with very little signs of wear. I have a pair of Soudet FIE breeches which I have also had for many years and they also show very little wear. |

| I should add that, while I haven't had any problems, some people I know with older PBT jackets have had problems with the zippers. Then again, the same is true for LP.
