| It could be intended as a replacement for a worn out bib (after all, that is usually the first thing to go on a saber mask). However unless their bib is designed to be removable (like the Leon Paul X-Change) then the effort required to remove the old bib and install a new one could be akin to what Fencerbill or YeOldeArmorer go through when rebuilding a mask.
I believe Santelli used to sell a replacement saber bib as well, however IIRC their bib was secured entirely inside the mesh and as such might not satisfy the requirements currently stated in Section 4.3 of Appendix A to the Material Rules ("The bib must be fixed to the exterior of the grille starting from the reinforcement band onwards..."). |
