Array Best lamé? What do people think is the best lamé? What about Leon Paul? When love bites, be sure to bite back.

Leon Paul has been the consistent recommendation from everyone I've ever asked.
That's what I have, and it has worked just fine so far, but it's still newish. -

Array Thank you. My old one is dying and I need a new one before Regional HS champs. When love bites, be sure to bite back.

PBT also make sturdy lames. -
We have had this conversation before. The Estoc lame's come with a 2 year warranty. Who else do you know that offers a warranty. I would say don't get uhlmann or pbt as both of their products have died on my in 6 months. I have also talked to fencers that swear by an estoc saying that they can beat the %$@ out of it and it still passes no problem. If you need a budget lame that will last a while, then I would suggest a TCA lame. -

Array I have been nothing but please with the LP Lightweight lames. Most of the serious foilists in my club have them, and mine is several years old and I tend to take pretty horrible care of it, as in I ball it up wet and stick it in the pocket of my fencing bag. Works great, still passes inspection with flying colors. This is what I recommend to all my fencers who are wanting to trade up fro the cheapy lames.
I have also hear good things about the Negrini (just make sure you get one without the straps on the back) and Estoc lames. I don't know anyone with the Estoc personally, but a couple of clubmates have recently gotten the Negrini and have been happy with them. You also might want to take a look at the new Escrime lames. I haven't used one yet but they are very solid from what I have seen and worth checking out.
I would stay away from the Uhlmann/Allstar lames as they seem to have seriously gone downhill.

Array OK. Good because I just bought a Leon Paul Ultrilight and was hopeing I wouldn't have to return it. When love bites, be sure to bite back.

I just need to replace the zipper because the little metal crimp at the end came off. Similar Threads -
