    Sizing Issue

Okay, so I just got my first set of foil equipment from fencing.net (the beginning men's foil set) and I looked at all the sizing stuff and got what it said it should get, but when I tried it on it seemed really... snug, but not tight. I don't know because I've had to use club equipment so it ws really loose. I don't know how it should be. should it be snug or looser?

It should be snug, so as to avoid your opponent's weapon getting caught in a fold or whatever. As long as you can still move freely, you're in good shape.

How well can you move? If it restricts motion then it's too small.

Also bear in mind that some fabrics tend to shrink with washing - especially the cotton used in many beginner's kits. Unless people are at the very bottom of the range listed on the sizing charts I usually recommend going up a size when ordering beginners kits.
