What Wasn't Mentioned in the Posting Guidelines

These are also what was decided, but not mentioned, in terms of this portion of the board. They deal more with how to treat one another, not specifically the fantasy portion of the board. These appeared in a previous thread, but that thread was either deleted or archived:

    1. No flaming, harassment or attacks. Name calling is included in this. As are snide comments made in "general."

    2. Personal discussions/arguments should be taken to PM or a dedicated thread, not broadcast to the board. The board is supposed to be for fictional writing. The same goes for complaints to the authors or moderators. It's disruptive to the story flow.

On a side note: Maybe we should set up a "Complaints Only" thread for those of you who have them. That way, you may have your public say, & will have no need to disrupt any of the ongoing stories. Let Zelda or myself know if this is something that you'd like to see. Or, start one yourself. Remember: We're respecting you enough to give you your space...respect the others enough not to disrupt within stories. The complaint thread will still adhere to the no flaming, harassment, etc. guideline, though. Some things cross the line.

As a common practice, Zelda & I try to give a warning if an offensive post or post outside the guidelines is made. Yes, we will post this on the board, especially if someone is new & not quite familiar with sending a private message yet. We don't tolerate it when people come to the board merely to start trouble, & will act accordingly. That's why we were asked to take these positions in the first place. If a poster doesn't heed the warning, we are (according to the terms that are posted on another portion of the site) entitled to delete it. Contrary to some beliefs...we don't delete posts for the heck of it, or to "get back at" anyone. If you follow the guidelines & act in a mature way, then the posts won't be deleted. We ask for respect, & will give it...but we are still the moderators until such a time as Craig or each of us individually decide we are not.

Forget about maybe, I've taken it upon myself to make it a reality.

Fine, 355...just as long as you realize that those complaints must still follow board guidelines. Harassment, attacks, foul language, etc. will not be permitted. Other than that, you are more than welcome to complain.

Another thing to remember: Post your complaints ONLY in the thread that bears that name. All other complaints that disrupt the flow of a story will be deleted. I think that's more than fair.

If you want your complaint answered, then indicate it.
