| Wow, indeed.
So how much less time do you think it'll take for the second million?

| Wow! Congrats Peet! Thats quite an accomplishment. FRED is such a key part of fencing in the US. I cant imagine what it was like without him. How did people find out about tournaments?

Wow.
-p | Congrats Peet. I had no idea that so many people were using FRED to pay for registrations. I'll have to look at that option more seriously for future tournaments.

| That is indeed awesome. FRED is truly a great development for fencing in the US. Now why can't the USFA do something similar to FRED (or just use FRED for the sake of not having to create it's own program) for registering and collecting money for tournaments? Imagine just how much easier and efficient that would be for NACs and Summer Nationals...oh well, one can dream.

Mary | Well, if it keeps growing at this rate, about half the time it took for the first one...

Mary | Looking at the numbers, I'm gonna say 14 - 18 months. That could be wildly off depending on unforeseen factors affecting growth & usage.

Tomas | There are quite a few organizers using FRED to accept fees. Another factor: a small number of the largest tournaments gross quite a bit of $. More than I'd ever thought, to be honest. |

Funny story: A recently-married-into-the-country-born-in-Canada clubmate of mine was telling me the other day: "You should tell them that even the Canadians have online registration!"

Cheers to the organizers!

| If the USFA were to take on this role (on-line pre-registering and pre-payment), it would probably be ONLY for USFA sponsored tournaments.
Currently, FRED doesn't make this distinction, so we're able to use FRED for things like clinics, camps, non-USFA events, and so on.
Also, the tight integration with 3rd party tools like "Fencing Time" is wonderful - which probably wouldn't happen with an NGB-run registration.
Careful what you wish for!
Good Job, Peet! Keep it up!
