| There was another thread on this one not too long ago. At least a handful of respondants said there is useful information in the book. I have not yet picked up a copy, but will do so, based on those comments.

Yes, it is worth it.
It's totally different from other fencing books. It describes the development of "the new paradigm" circa 1980 that changed how modern epee is fenced. People newer to fencing may not appreciate it that much since so much of the paradigm is embedded in today’s fencing. But for those that fenced before that period it might help put some of the developments/changes in context.
Some of the marketing, and even the positioning of the book is a little misleading. The message is that through the paradigm you can “win with less talent.” Make no doubt about it, to do what JH did took extreme talent – it was just radically different from what came before him.
There really is a lot in the book, and if it does not provoke some thoughts then put it away for a couple of years and come back to it. I’ve re-read it a few times already and still find things in there of value. It also helped me to appreciate how much I have to learn about fencing, which is a good thing.
