Array They're both about 2.5 inches long, which seems long to me. I don't know anything about earrings though. I can always shorten it. Also, the stones are orange in fluorescent light, but appear slightly pink in natural light.
The problem with custom jewelry is the time involved. Plain forged earrings I could actually viably produce, but the sapphire earrings would cost way too much because of the time involved. -

Array Yeah, I see what you mean.
It's much easier to do something quickly and sell it for cheaper than to take time on it and charge more. I know this from experience, a little bit.

"Crown of Immortality" (That's just what they're called, I'm not being pretentious)
Copper, silver; raised, fabricated http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...e/CIMG0414.jpg
"Musical Sphere"
Nickel silver; fabricated
The engagement collar was a piece we presented during a talk with Sondra Sherman. The assignment was to make a ring that symbolized power. It's a ring worn around the neck. It has something to do with the idea of marriage as servitude or ownership, I'm sure.
The tiara was based on a Greek diadem from the 3rd century BC. The name crown of immortality refers to the immortality of fame, because that sort of thing was generally given for valor or achievement. The silver is white rather than shiny because I depletion gilded it (which leaves a matte surface).
The musical sphere makes a noise like a wind chime when you shake it. -

Array I love the tiara o_o
It's just fabulous... I love looking at all of your stuff, though. It's cool.

Array I'd be the last person to call myself an artist... but I've made at least one thing I think is pretty. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...2-20-69559.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...2-20-69566.jpg
It's a steel rose... Hand forged from a single piece of 1/4" round steel. "When Fascism comes to America, it will come wrapped in the flag and bearing a cross." -

Array I'd say that pretty much counts. It's pretty fantastic.

Array It's the only one(that is, the only good one) I've made.... I've thought about making a few more, but I made this one for my last girlfriend not long before we broke up. Never got to give it to her, so know it sits on my desk, without a purpose. "When Fascism comes to America, it will come wrapped in the flag and bearing a cross." -

Array Oh, that is sad.
Now, for me, breaking up has just put my muse into kick start. It's kind of weird, 'cause I'm doing more writing than drawing...and I am usually more a drawing kind of girl.
You can find my stuff here: http://mimilynch.deviantart.com/
Mostly poetry, I also have a couple of drawings.
One poem I wrote while in a strange mood...the vulgarity of fencing was REALLY sugesting itself...so....It could maybe easily mistaken for smut.
That was just fun to write. I had never done anything like that before. The world belongs, however, to those who can look at the glass and say: What's up with this glass? Excuse me? Excuse me? This is my glass? I don't think so. My glass was full! And it was a bigger glass!

Haven't seen your drawings yet, but you are an excellent poet! I loved your fencing poem, it really captures the essence of some of the bouts I've had. -

Array Lol...Thank you for the kind words. I'll deliberately ignore any innuendo.
I do hope you read beyond the fencing one- the one before that is just random crap, really. The world belongs, however, to those who can look at the glass and say: What's up with this glass? Excuse me? Excuse me? This is my glass? I don't think so. My glass was full! And it was a bigger glass!

Don't even ask why I can't do it now, though. I'm terrified of how many messages I'll have, is all. lol.

Array I've just returned from B&N with a copy of The Maltese Falcon and a Moleskin for writing. I dedicated it on the first page with a short composition. I'm quite pleased with how it turned out:
I now own this notebook to write down any thoughts I have. I guess it could be called a diary, but I want to think of it as a selection of my best ideas, stories, and ventures from now on. I'll take it with me where I go so nothing escapes it. Where that shall be or what adventures I'll have only God and Fate know, but rest assured, I will follow the winds with this book firmly in grasp.

Array Excellent choice. I love that book, and I don't go anywhere without a moleskine notebook in my pocket. Inspiration can strike at any time, and it helps to be prepared. Especially handy for the occasional phone number -
