Bummer... I was thinking of going to the qualifiers for experience, but I want to be able to go to the JO's if I qualify.

Oh well, the Hangover Open it is.

What does the one have to do with the other?

Treat the qualifier the way you would any other local tournament. Go fence, get your experience, forget/ignore the fact that it also (might) allows you to attend a future event (which you can't attend due to other reasons).

Then go and additionally attend the Hangover.

Well, the tournaments are 2ish hours away, and I don't have a drivers license. So I can usually make it to about one per month. I'm gonna be at the hangover open anyways, and I doubt I'll be able to make it back up for the JO qualifiers only a few days after the Hangover.
