Array Fencing.net is the best fencing vendor I have ever dealt with. You will not have any trouble. -

Array Great and its cheaper
Does anyone know how much the LP electric epee blade weighs? Just the blade w/out the guard, socket, grip, etc. Cuz the Kolobkov is 173g so im wondering how much different they could be. -

Array I was just wondering about fencing.net since it is cheaper and it sells the full epee. I am concerned more about the weight though (look at my comment before this one) -

Array I'm assuming its cheaper because it doesn't include shipping...I could be wrong.
Also, the weights are:
LP size 5: 150 grams
LP Maraging FIE size 5: 156 grams
Kolobkov Pro: 183 grams

Array Ahh so does 33 grams make a huge difference or is it just that the Kolobkov has a more sturdy foible?

Array I believe it's just the foible. if you want an idea of how much weight 33 grams is, a paperclip is approximately a gram.
I like my LP a lot, but I would definitely like a blade with a bit more strength in the foible. I'll probably give the K-Pro blade a shot, next time I have $200 and I need a new blade. Everything I've heard about it has made it sound perfect for me. -

Array Alright so i ordered a LP Kolobkov-pro epee from LP and it is on its shipping atm. I was wondering if anyone out there had it and wanna tell me things about the blade compared to a regular non-fie LP and what kind of things its good at. Im just looking for more opinions and yes I have read the review that was posted on this site, ask the armorer. -

Array I kinda get it...but can u speak in simpler terms??? -

Array I think MP's point was that any blade is a lump of metal. It doesn't do anything well on its own except eat money and hold down papers in a medium breeze. Its what the fencer does well with it, and that will depend on the skill of the fencer.
The KP lends itself well to accurate snipes, fast blade actions and strong parries or beats. Because of its durability and stiffness it also is good for counter attacks and attacks with opposition. It is not a great flickers blade unless you have good technique and it won't win any beauty pageants. It is also not quite the same "good at everything" feel as the BF FIE blades but for the right fencer it makes up for that with its other attributes and has a much more continental feel than any other LP blade. Is that more what you are looking for? Just another lost soul saved by the (hit) First Church of EPEE!
