Sorry, I get off on tangents | Whaaa..?
Really, I thought this was just an adventure film, sort of like the Narnia films? I must have missed something. I've only seen the trailer for it yet but thought it looked like a cute adventure movie.

| I got so fed up with this movie that I sent them a letter.
Dear creators of the Golden Compass,
Please stop putting thought and messages into movies and books. If I wanted my kids to think, I would have them read the Bible. Your "viewpoints" and "alternate way of thinking about things" are offensive and nearly pornographic. Please, these are children's stories.
Love,

These, according to the Archbishop of Canterbury, are not anti-religious, or anti-Christian, but "attacks on dogmatism and the use of religion to oppress."
edit: "These" refers to the Golden Compass, etc.

| Hello. I'm modest, responsible, solitary, dependable, softly spoken, and enjoy long walks on the beach at sunset. We should go out sometime. PM me for my number.

The entire series is filled with Christian ideas presented in a way for younger readers to understand. The popularity of the series is that he draws from a depth of other sources as well - Greek and Roman mythology as well as British and Irish Fairy Tales - so readers can take whole series at face value.
They are good books, read them sometime. |

| I didn't see the movie, because couch lump took the kids to see it when we were on the Disney cruise. Sorry, but mommy can think of LOTS of things to do on a cruise other than go to the movie
OOPS off the subject

Oh wait, I'm 25 and I live on the opposite coast from parents who would have taken me to see it anyway... hooray!

| I answered the questions but I refuse to post my daemon. The choice was just too horrible to contemplate.
