glove

I've read the older threads in this forum about gloves and am still completely lost.

I've had the same Santelli leather glove for the past four years and it's basically all I've ever used. A host of angels sung to me the first time I put it on - though unfortunately those voices are becoming harder to hear as time goes on (I think the crustiness doesn't resonate as well as new leather). I've tried some of the gloves our club has (bg and others, all pretty cheap), and they just don't cut it.

Basically, which gloves today are most like my Santelli? Or, how it used to be. :P
I've been looking at tons of different gloves and can't figure anything out. It seems every company has a leather glove that looks good. I wish I could try a bunch on but where could I do that?

Thank you for any response.

I have a clubmate who swears by his leather Triplette glove. Or... he did, until it fell behind the retractable bleachers at Temple this year. He's using a ratty old BG glove until Santa brings him a new one, hopefully.

Go to any national level tournament and you will find a number of vendors there will willing to let you look at, try on and and buy their glove. You can also try visiting regional events however the selection of vendors won't be as great.

You can also try visiting vendors if you happen to be in the area, although you may want to contact them in advance.

I realize the you've already looked at some older threads, but just in case you didn't go far enough back you may want to look at this thread.

He doesn't again? We mailed it back a couple of weeks ago.

God, I love(d) Santelli gloves. I still have one in pretty good shape (worn a hole through the thumb) and one sabre one that was used once.

There is nothing like them. Period. I've looked at all vendors and haven't seen anything close (listen up vendors, if you want to clone them and I mean exactly, PM me).

A lot of people prefer synthetic over leather. Honestly, I can't see why (I fence with a french grip and have found the former to be too slippery).

Currently I use Negrini leather gloves. They are OK, better than most out there but pale in comparison to Santelli's.
