    Team Warm-ups?

My college club is thinking of getting some warm-up jackets that we can get customized for the team- Does anyone know of a good company to get them made? What kind of price range could we expect? I was thinking of doing the team logo/name on the back, name of the fencer on one side of the front, and weapon of choice on the arm. Anyone have experience with this?

    Thanks!

The vast majority of fencing teams, and other sports, use boathouse jackets. www.boathouse.com the jackets are pretty customizable and come in a variety of designs. They can be expensive, the ones we got were about $75, I've heard of them costing more than that at other schools depending on design and logos and such.

Our Wrestling Team in High School got our warm-ups from adidas. one year he had wind-breaker types, and another year they were sweat pant like, then the next year they were pullovers and button-legged pants we had logos and embroidery done on them, i cant remember the prices off the top of my head but you could check their website.

Boathouse and Jammin are where I see most club warm ups coming from. Boathouse can be a pain, and there are only a couple of design patterns to chose from, although lots of colors. Jammin is much more easy to work with and have a lot more variety, but cost a fair bit more. Depending on how spiffy you want them done, figure anywhere from $75-150 for the jackets.

Escrime USA is also doing warm ups, although I don't know all the details. They have done the warm ups for the Vet team and they look pretty nice. I don't know any of the details about the warm up program, but Rick has always been great to deal with and is obsessive about quality, so I would suggest checking them out as well.

Thanks for the links- the only one of those I've looked at is Boathouse, and they did seem pretty good as far as quality and color selection. They have a pretty uninteresting stock fencing logo, so I'm wondering if they have a way to upload your own logo...they also didn't seem to do the kind of big, full back sized logos and names that we're looking for- I'll have to look around at some of those other ones too.

    Thanks again!

Yeah, I would be weary about warm-ups being too big.

For my teams warm-ups I wear a small in both the pants and the jacket, and they are still too big!!
    And I'm a 6'1" 180 lb dude!

I feel bad for the girls on our team who are like 5 ft tall.

Our jackets were done through N-Zone Sportswear - click here to see one. The jackets themselves were made by Charles River and the logo is embroidered on the back vent. I went with embroidery for durability and man, have these things lasted. We got them I think four years ago now (am too lazy to look up the order info) and folks in the VA division can vouch that I practically live in mine.

One thing to keep in mind on the pricing: find out if the minimum number of pieces for each price break means minimum number of printed/embroidered items or minimum number of items, period. When I was getting quotes, I learned that some companies included unembroidered warm-up pants in the total to qualify for the price breaks, some didn't. In other words, from Company X I would have had to order at least 45 jackets to get the 45 item price break but from Company Y I would have only had to order 23 jackets and 22 pairs of pants to get the 45 item break.

The BFC has blue and balck addidas warm up jackets, the club name is silk screened or some-such on the back, and they give you an extra patch (see my picture under my name) to sew over the addidas embroidered logo on the front.

The end result looks like an ubercustom club jacket.

Do you have the warmups from Boathouse, or from another company?

My club got its current jackets from Jammin', and we've been very happy with them (though they were hard to contact for a while when they moved from California to Virginia). They will also do T-shirts, fleece jackets and polo shirts with your club logo.
Our previous jackets were off-the-rack cheapies, and we had to switch when the pattern was discontinued. Jammin' will keep your pattern on file, so that's not a problem. (I'm guessing some of the other companies mentioned here would do that too -- you'll want to ask).
I don't think Jammin' changes the unit price according to the order size with jackets, but they do with T-shirts, so if you're also getting T-shirts, check on the minimum number.
