    Yet another knickers quest...

I’m in the market for some new knickers. I have a couple of pairs of old ones… cotton ones that more or less fit but aren’t so comfortable on the lunge (no give), cheap nylon (read: piece o'crap) ones that are now so baggy I could fit half of another me in there, assorted sizes from when I weighed a bit more than I do now…

What’s the verdict on the Leon Paul full stretch 350n knickers? I did a search, and find primarily men's opinions, which helps in determining quality, but not fit. I only see one product review - also by a male. Size-wise, do the women’s knickers run large or small? Are they built to handle a woman who’s got some curve, or are they built for a stick figure? I'm short-waisted, and I have HIPS, for God’s sake (but alas, not much ‘round back).

I own the LP 350n jacket, and love it - though, is it me, or are the sleeves designed for tyrannosaur arms? It’s not so much that I’m trying to match that oddly-not-so-white white of the jacket to new knickers, but I’m quite contented with the quality of the jacket, and figure the knickers will also be of good quality. I just don’t want to waste time and money on shipping product back and forth to get the right fit.

    HOW ARE THESE THINGS CUT???

Hmm.. maybe that explains why the jacket is a perfect fit for me even though my arms are a bit on the short side.

Can't help you on women's fit on the knickers (although the women I've seen in them look just fine to me ), but the quality is every bit as good as the jacket.

That's such a funny paragraph (from where I am sitting) that I think I will rep you.

I find the LP cut reasonable. I am sure Alex or Barry will be along shortly to confirm that.

Although everyone likes to bash Uhlmann for sourcing their product from China, I think the quality of their uniforms is still pretty good. I have two daughters and they both found sizes that fit well. The sizing chart is pretty accurate, and there are a lot of sizes. We've had very good luck with mail order if we do a careful measurement and find the best fit in the charts.

    A fan

I am a woman who has these knickers of which you speak and I am not a stick figure when it comes to my lower body (hips...check). I find that the LPs do just fine and I'm guessing this is largely due to their stretchy nature. I would call them true to size as long as you measure your waist in the right place (your real waist, not where we wear most jeans these days). I think they're crazy comfortable and they look as good as I could expect of any knickers. I've worn them right into the grocery store after practice without shame.

The caveat is that these are the only knickers I've ever had so I don't have a lot to compare them with. I've had them for over two years now. The elastic is still in good shape with liberal washing. I've had to reaffix both buttons over time and the material on the right thigh is starting to pill slightly - from lunging and getting hit I guess - but after two years, I can live with that.
