| Quick sword question I am in need of swords, epee's to be exact. I need to know a few things:
-Where to buy
-What to stay away from
-What to look for
-Any other useful knowledge
Oh I don't need FIE blades or anything, just practice swords. Maybe a comp. every once in a while. |

| step 1: scroll up
step 2: click on "fencing equipment"
step 3: click on "complete epee/electric non-FIE" under weapons
step 4: Buy!
Don't waste you money on a non electric. You might as well practice with electric exclusively for epee, as the shots to the wrist and arm and such aren't exactly the easiest to call sometimes. A non-electric epee is a waste of money.

| I don't know what a sword is.
As for an epee, you can get some good, cheap ones from Absolute at http://www.absolutefencinggear.com
EDIT: to answer the complete question, you'd probably be best off going to the complete non-FIE weapons and buying the complete electric for like $50. It's a good blade for the money.

| Go to the Armoury, for starters, rather than the Water Cooler.
I'm not an epeeist, but in general, I definitely recommend the f.net store. |

| How much are you willing to spend? Do they need to be assembled weapons or can you put them together yourself? I like LP blades but I get them bare and wire with German parts. I also like the titanium bell gaurd, really light and durable.
Also, be sure to get some additional tips, tips screws, contact and pressure springs that work with the weapons you have ordered/made as these items occasionally need to be replaced on epees. |

| App13...I STRONGLY recommend that you speak to Bugsy before placing an order...even have him order for you. With foil, I could make several recommendations...with epee...I cannot. However, if you order what Bugsy recommends, then when you're in a pinch and need a wire/tip/screw/whatever the day before a competition, you can use club parts and parts stocked by Bugsy and Chris. I ALWAYS order my own stuff, but a couple of weeks ago I needed three wires pronto and Chris drove them from Henniker to Rochester for me...I use the same kind that the club uses! |
