I'm very sorry to hear that about Max. We fenced in the Beachcombers Tournament on the Oregon coast in the early '90s, and he knocked me out of DEs in épée at the Nike World Masters Games. A real sportsman and a charming guy.

My condolences to his family and what must be many many friends.
And yet, to me, what is this quintessence of dust?

I had the great pleasure of meeting and fencing with Max Callo at the Vet Worlds in Krems in 2004. I thought him charming, kind, skillfull, and generous. I will miss him.
I'm a foil fencer, and I can change, if I have to, I guess.

Well damn... My condolences to his family and all the fencers of Utah and Idaho.
I enjoyed fencing him many years ago when I lived out there.
