    Thread Resurrection

Although it's not a frequent problem (and heck, maybe it's not even a problem per se), every so often a long-dead thread is brought back to life for no real reason. Usually it's a new poster cruising through old threads who evidently doesn't notice the date on the post to which he/she is responding. So how about a pop-up when a poster is adding a comment to a thread whose last post is dated, say, a month or more ago? Something pointing out the age of the thread and asking the ubiquitous 'Are you sure you want to do this?'

It's just a minor annoyance -- feel free to ignore if I'm a minority of one.

hard to justify telling people to "use the search function" to find old threads to answer their question, and then tell them not to ressurect them.

But they wouldn't be told not to resurrect them. They'd just be asked if they're sure they want to. Are most thread resurrections searchers asking a question or (usually new) people idling around and just posting a comment, (evidently) not realizing the age of the thread in question? Seems to me the latter is the cause most of the time.

    Irony strikes!!!!

As I posted in a recent thread, it wouldn't be too hard to make it so if you wanted to resurrect a thread more than say, 3 months old, that you had to post a reason, that would then be reviewed by mods.

I was considering posting that in this forum, but then I saw this thread, and decided to ressurect it.
    "Sir, didn't I parry"
"You didn't take advantage of his blade enough, so no."

(I guess i should have romanced it a bit more..."
