| Advanced Darkness I went to a practise one of these previous days, a practise that is technically only for team fencers.
And at this practise I fell in love for what could possibly be the very first time.
I don't know if it was the tug of an electric cord on my lame, or getting hit quite hard in weird places, but rest assured that I am completely smitten.
Advice for a stricken lover? Surely this kind of infatuation cannot be healthy.

| Well, Smitten, are you in love with the whole team? The teammate? The prospect of a different weapon? A coach? The fact that someone attacks you in a special way? A referee? What is advanced darkness? The thought of a normal life paying the rent and the pizza guy, without X next to you on the couch?
Yes, you are doomed, as Chef says, and your goose is cooked, because we fencers (admit it, now) are the most self-centered, self-absorbed lunatics in the USA. Even with idealists spattered here and there, and those who uphold the referee's ethics, we like the game, the verb, in the present tense.
In other words--my condolences. And--good luck in your romance!

Or perhaps, it'll bud into a beautiful romance.

| Why, me and the strip, of course. We totally hit it off last Saturday.
But I suppose this isn't a new thing, right? Was there a certain moment for any of you when you thought; This is something I should have been doing from the very start.
Our salle has a particular smell I rather like, and I was fencing someone who really knew what he was doing, getting more than a few bruises. And then, just like that I was thinking 'Isn't this the greatest thing in the world?'
Wow, I feel like I'm telling you guys something dirty. XD

| Careful. You get in too far and there's no going back. You're forfeiting the rest of your life for practice and you dress like Zorro for Halloween. Even though you're a girl. |

| It's funny, really. Now you'll be obsessed, you'll think about fencing all the time, you'll practice fencing moves at inapropriate times, you'll advance through crowds and tight places, you'll compare crossing the street with timing a parry, you'll waist half your daily life checking the forum every 10 minutes. It does fade a bit, with time, but is easily renewed. I meant what I said -
You're Doomed
but it's a pleasant damnation... |

Besides, Epee and I tried it once, it just didn't work out.

Wow, I feel like I'm telling you guys something dirty. XD | I must admit, I enjoy bruises too. Anyway, only advice that I have is to make sure that it doesn't affect your training, his training, or anyone else's training. Also, keep it outside of the club as much as you can, and if you break up, MAKE SURE you don't bring that into the club.
