| Why would anyone be silly enough to name their weapon?! I apologize if this topic has been used before; I couldn't get anything in search.
So am I the only one geeky enough to name my weapons/blades? I know some of the communal foils at school have nicknames (poor dead "Magic Elif Foil"...)
My school/teammates are the Commies (we're Commonwealth), so my epees are Che, Mao, and my new beauty Mariátegui (he's really a socialist, but close enough).
Also, do you think of your weapons as female or male? Mine are all men, obviously, despite the hip-shaped epee guard... |

| That's hilarious. Absolutely hilarious.
Not the fact that you name them, but what you name them.

| I have "Old Faithful", but all the other ones are simply referred to by their blade brand, "The Paul", or the grip color, "Blue" "Green" "Silver", or a combination of the two. |

| I call my old foil "Suicidy" b/c the nut usually comes loose doesn't work when I depress the tip.
Might just change the name to "EMO Kid".

| If the kids break, then you're doing something wrong and a serious evaluation of your parenting skills is in order.
If the blades don't break, it means you're not hitting anyone. |

| I name my foils.
I even go one step further, and trace the lineage through the handle.
A new blade = *new name* successor to *previous name* etc.

A number of girls have, though.
