| Things that make you shake your head. I'm looking at my e-newsletter from my dog food supplier and I see a link to this product called "Scoopies" I had no idea what it was. http://www.scoopies.com/
Very weird advertising of their product....
On the other hand... It's so nice to see that Mr. Hankey from South Park found work during the Christmas off-season. http://www.southparkstudios.com/show...haracter_id=41

| I'm not sure exactly how I feel about these things. On the one hand it almost seems sort of honest, but then on the other hand, it could be offensive to some people. We have an ad on Television for carpet cleaners in which a dog drags himself across the rug, which is supposed to encourage purchases of the product. Our's was worse than yours. |

| HOOOOOW does adding a thumb make the bag easier to use? And "more friendly for the vision-impaired with guide dogs"??? OHMYGOD, the bags cure blindness!

| I think it's kind of funny.
Adding to the "things that make you shake your head," I saw a commercial for a pregnency test that was a little, shall we say, different. The tag line was something like, "we have the easiest test for you to pee on," then it showed a stream of liquid hitting the end of the stick. And the voice was overly dramatic. Weird.

| I saw a commercial for the new TMX Elmo. It showed Elmo dancing around, but from his neck down it was blurred because he does something new. They should have named it XXX Elmo I think.

| Independent Health (an health care insurance company, for those who have never heard of them) has a new ad campaign out. Apparently, their corporate color is red. Their ads and billboards everywhere suggest that people should switch to Independent Health so they can get "the red shirt treatment"!
Someone needs to find the marketing manager that thought that up and slap them up the side of their head. Geeks and sci-fi fans the world over know that Star Trek (TOS) redefined the term " red shirt" to mean "first to die"!!!
Bad image to portray for a health care company.

| What makes me shake my head is seeing the very small final figure on my pay-slip.

I was working for a company who's parent company distributed computers in Canada. The Japanese company they were dealing with came up with a cartoon figure to make their computers and documentation more friendly and personable. The execs (for the company I worked for) had to break the news to their Japanese supplier that the cute little woodpecker they came up with couldn't be called Woody the Pecker.
Not only did it sound too much like the name of a more famous woodpecker, but this name was a little errrr... rude. They ended up scrapping the whole concept out of embarrassment.

why?
because in spanish, "no va" translates to "does'nt go"!

I ignore most of the e-newsletters, but my husband is away and I'm bored. Besides... I have a coding system whenever I hand out my name/ e-mail. I like to keep track who ends up with my name/ e-mail in their database, so occasionally I look to see which fake name of mine got mail.

Brochures etc. were already printed, using slogans like "It looks small on the outside, but once you're in it..." and "Fitta -- a daily pleasure".
Little did they know that 'fitta' in swedish is slang for... well, why don't you look it up yourselves...so in Sweden it had to be released as Honda 'Jazz'.

| CSI and Law and Order. I'm not sure about either of them anymore. Do you see that guy? I just can't believe it. He got enormous - huge - His first season he looked good, now, it's too much pasta. I want to put him on a hugh diet. He has to lose about 50 pounds. I can't watch it anymore, it's too much. It's very upsetting. |
