Array Pommel help Need some advice gang.
I was going to rewire one of my epees and found that the tang had been bent a tad. Right now, the pommel inside the grip is touching the inside of the hole for the tang, so I can't get my wrench around it to get it undone. I use outside hex pommels.
Any suggestions on how I can get the pommel loose?

try this:
using needlenose pliers, put the inside of one side of the pliers jaw on the side of the tang that needs bent back, and the inside of the other plier jaw on the outside of the grip, then squeeze, thus bending the tang back to straight.
its the only easy solution i've found with tools available at our club. if the tang REALLY doesn't want to budge you could also use a flat blade screwdriver (craftsman so that if you break it, you get a new one) as a pry bar. This is great if you've got the leverage, and a vice to clamp the blade in.
I drove a 69 mustang through highschool and part of college (now waiting for major restoration) so I learned all kinds of beat it until it starts working/fits mechanical skills. -

Array If you have any room at all, you may be able to bang the hex wrench down onto the pommel nut. I've had this happen with a couple of weapons and was able to correct it by the appropriate application of brute force and ignorance.
You may also want to try a Dremel to grind away a bit at the inside of the grip so you can get the wrench started onto the top of the nut.
Either way, it's going to take some elbow grease to loosen it.

Array Hi All
I have a similar problem. A number of years ago I loaned my third foil to some-one from another club. He returned it to me at the end of the competition and I never saw him again!
The foil worked fine until the blade wire broke and I had to replace it! I came to undo the nut (I use pistol grips) and realised that my 'friend' had stripped the nuts hexagonal grop right off (he must ahve used a screwdriver instead of an Allen Key! Thus rounding the edges!). I have tried and tried to remove the nut but cant! It is tight as a... but I cant rewire it and I cant use the socket, gurad or handle for anything else. The blade is also quite soft and in need of replacing anyway!
What can I do?
All help is greatfully received!
