The Princess Bride - "Hello. My name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father prepare to die."

But my favourite has to be:

"My name is Maximus Decimus Meridius, commander of the Armies of the North, General of the Felix Legions, loyal servant to the true emperor, Marcus Aurelius. Father to a murdered son, husband to a murdered wife. And I will have my vengeance, in this life or the next."

Yes I know nothing in the film bears any resemblance to fencing but he uses a sword and by bob that line is fantastic and it's magnificently delivered.

    You are forgetting Aladdin...

    "He's got a sword."
"You idiot, we've all got swords..."
I would challenge you to a battle of wits, but you appear to be unarmed.

And one of my favourite quotations in my signature.

    Gav's fencing social faux-pas

Me: "Hello there, how's if going?"
Other: "Ok, I am still in the tournament."
Me (joking): "You're 'big-boned' - you must be a sabreur."
    Other (unamused): "I'm a foilist"

    Me: "Where are you from?"
Other: "Canada - I'm over here with the army. I just having a shot at the local sabre tournament."
Me: "Ah! So you'll be a grunt then"

Oh, so close, but not quite. The answer we were looking for was "Sand Pirates of the Sahara," the (sort-of) movie within a movie. And the line was delivered by the always amusing Bruce Campbell.

All from the Princess Bride ....print the whole scene - it is great.

Man in Black: You've done nothing but sword-play?
Inigo Montoya: More pursue than study lately. You see, I cannot find him... it's been twenty years now and I'm starting to lose confidence. I just work for Vizzini to pay the bills. There's not a lot of money in revenge.
Man in Black: Well I certainly hope you find him someday.
Inigo Montoya: You are ready then?
Man in Black: Whether I am or not, you've been more than fair.
Inigo Montoya: You seem a decent fellow... I hate to kill you.
Man in Black: You seem a decent fellow... I hate to die.
    Inigo Montoya: Begin.

From later in the same scene ...

    [fencing]
    Inigo Montoya: You are wonderful.
Man in Black: Thank you; I've worked hard to become so.
Inigo Montoya: I admit it, you are better than I am.
Man in Black: Then why are you smiling?
Inigo Montoya: Because I know something you don't know.
Man in Black: And what is that?
Inigo Montoya: I... am not left-handed.
Man in Black: You are amazing.
Inigo Montoya: I ought to be, after 20 years.
Man in Black: Oh, there's something I ought to tell you.
    Inigo Montoya: Tell me.
Man in Black: I'm not left-handed either.

    Rob Roy

Referee: You are here on a matter of honor. I am here to see that you settle it honorably. There will be no back-stabbing, you will not throw your blades, nor will you use weapons other than those agreed. If quarter should be asked...
Robert Roy MacGregor: No quarter will be asked.
    Archibald Cunningham: Or given.

If watching the movie Stardust makes you a nerd, then chalk me up among the ranks. I really enjoyed the movie. Though you almost want to take a cheesegrater to your head to get the mental image of Robert Deniro out of your head.

No, I believe Rabid Monk was calling me a nerd for my Star Wars reference. But I'm not sure why. In any event, I embraced my dorkdom ages ago.

That was nothing compared to seeing Kathy Bates topless in About Schmidt. After that unhappy surprise, nothing on film phases me.

"Where did you learn to fight like that?"
    "Here and there..."
"Maybe there, but certainly not here."

    guess the source.
