Spring problem in screwless tips

Okay these things are starting to show up in my armoury. How do I open the screwless foil tip to get at the spring? I see there is some kind of nothches near the top and assume this is the key.
I thought I heard mention of a particular tool for the job, but I don't see any such thing in all my cataloges. So, what's up?
I apprectiate the help, guys.

I know for epee the screwless take a 6mm for the barrel and 7 mm for the tip. on foil I would try a 5mm on the barrel and maybe a 5.5mm wrench or a 6mm wrench for the tip. If it slot try a demral wrench.

I don't know about the foil tip. I do know Tim is correct about the 6 and 7 MM flats on the épée tips. I believe the Negrini foil tip is 7 MM and 5 MM.

Go <a href="http://www.negrini.com/Ert198SSV.htm" target="_blank">here</a> to see the instructions for the foil tip and <a href="http://www.negrini.com/Ert187SSV.htm" target="_blank">here</a> for instructions on the Negrini épée tip.

A couple of items to consider on the Estoc épée tip (just started using them). They probably apply to the Negrini as well:

One, when you tighten and loosen these things, make sure that you "suspend" the weapon from the bottom flats while tightening the top one, thereby insuring that you don't tighten or loosen the tip itself from the weapon and consequently break the wires.

Secondly, make absolutely sure the top half of the barrel is tight or you'll find yourself giving up touches. If the top half loosens at all, the travel will increase until you no longer make contact even when the tip is fully depressed.

AH, I found the perfect tool to loosen and unscrew this tip. My wire stripper is just the right width to fit in the notches on both sides of the button/barrel. It worked like a charm.
Now, do I need to order springs specific to this tip or can I use a French or German spring that I probably already have on hand?
