    Hello

    Hello everyone,

Just wanted to drop in and offer up a short intro about myself. I am pretty new to the fencing world, I took an entry level class back in college about 4 years ago and loved it. The instructor told me I had a natural build for a fencer (apparently, tall and left handed is a good thing?), however I never really pursued it outside of that class.

I've taken some Aikido classes for the past year and a half but wanted to try something different. I look forward to reading up on what this site has to offer and who knows maybe I'll get the nerve to join the local fencing club.

Welcome...what do you fence? foil epee or sabre?
Attack (uh-TAK)- 1. n. In Foil: the act of extending one's weapon toward one's opponent's target area. 2. n. In Sabre: the act of approaching one's opponent while holding a weapon. 3. n. In Épée: the act of extending one's weapon in the hopes that one's opponent walks on to it

Well, except in epee, where it's better to be deliberatelikesloth.

    Welcome a-board.

Overheard from a 12-year-old girl novice sabre fencer while I was fencing my coach at a practice a couple of months back:

    "He's like a ninja!"

    So, I have independent corroboration.

OMG, I just HAVE to use a 12 year old as a source in my research paper! They're so....wise!
