| New England Patriots vs Indianapolis Colts So the Sox swept in 4, and the Pats bombed the Redskins back to prehistoric times (sorry Shi No). What's the next thing to talk about? Well, this week's "Game of the Century!"
8-0 Pats vs 7-0 Superbowl Champ Colts!
Who's going to win? What do you think about it? Who do you hope wins?
While we already have Matt9476's '07 NFL season thread, I think this matchup deserves its own thread.
Oh...and GO PATS! |

| You know, I hate you and your stupid Patriots. All the TV commentators I've heard are giving the Colts a slight edge.
However, the Patriots are a ****ing machine. Every team they face is doomed.
Patriots win in a blow out. I hope I'm wrong. |

| While Indianpolis has allowed fewer points per game this year, I think New England has the better defense. Both teams can score at will, so defense should make the difference in New England's favor. If it comes down to special teams, however, you can't go wrong with Adam Vinitieri.

BFO | Have you heard? Leinies has been purchased by Miller, and they're no longer the Wisconsin home-brewed domination they once were.
New Glarus is the new Leinies. And Lake Louie (from Arena) is the new New Glarus.
Tyranena is still the same. Plus there are some other companies floating around like Ale Asylum and Capitol who are making some good beer.
Seriously, if you're ever in the area we should go to the Memorial Union (or wherever) and have a few. There's another Beloit Alum who goes to my non-college club, and I bet he'd want to come along. |

I'll get to Wisconsin again in the next year or so...perhaps March. I'll have to visit your club and say HI to Garrison.
Miller bought Leinies? Did they change the taste so that it's less skunk pissie? Seriously, I always liked Huber. |

Oh...and GO PATS! | Yeah, having gotten our arses whooped by them, I want them to destroy every other team. They are playing with a vengeance, and I'm sorry, but the Colts aren't gonna be any better against their passing game than we were, but might stop their runs a bit better.
Granted, us not having 2 of our top 3 CBs didn't make things any better...and I wanted to scream when they ignored Vrabel in the end zone.....
At least our anemic offense didn't get shut out.

Miller bought Leinies? Did they change the taste so that it's less skunk pissie? Seriously, I always liked Huber. | Well, it seems like Leinies Original and Creamy Dark have stayed pretty much the same, and that Leinies Red has declined in flavor, because those aren't what Miller wanted in the acquisition.
Honeyweiss and Berrywiess, the chick beers, seem to be aggressively marketed, and are terrible, yet somehow popular. I think they may decline slightly given the introduction of Miller Chill, which sits firmly in their niche of beers that don't taste like beer and are disgusting. (And are not really beer anyway according to the Bavarian purity law of 1516.)
Leinenkugel's does still brew a few micros that are not widely available, and I haven't had them, but I've heard a few good things.
I give Berghoff a big eh. It's not terrible, depending on the beer, but it's nothing I'd buy for myself.
The Alum is Elliot Schulz, and he graduated in '05. He's a pleasure to drink with, and I've never met anyone who has a more comprehensive knowledge of beers than him. |

At least our anemic offense didn't get shut out. | Yeah I don't get it. He has 10 career catches, all for touchdowns. I've seen him go in and not get a ball thrown to him once. It's possible it's happened more, but I haven't missed a game pretty much since he's been here. He needs to be double covered in the endzone every time he goes in.....however, I love the fact that everyone ignores him.
On the game...Pats win by 10. There's no way it's gonna be a blowout, the Colts are an awesome team as well.
Also....any other Pats fans upset Brady ran in TWO last week....he coulda had 32 TD passes through 8 weeks, not just a mere 30.

The fact that he ran two in shows that he's more concerned with winning than records. You can see his face in one of the shots...he's clearly looking for Moss, then his eyes shoot down and front like arrows...as he sees an opening to run, and he takes it with massive determination. It's interesting that JUST as he makes the decision to run, Moss is all alone in the endzone directly in front of him with his right arm up. And after Brady scores, Moss is the first one to congratulate him, with an enormous smile on his face.
Why the talking idiots didn't mention that the reason Brady was still in and passing in the fourth quarter is that they ARE trying to get a minimum of three passing touchdowns per game is beyond me. It was so obvious. The score was ridiculous, but he only had TWO passing touchdowns at that point in the game. Think they're going to pull him then??? No way. |

Still another game of 5 woulda been nice right?

| Despite the fact that it was a painful game to watch from my perspective, I do hope that Brady obliterates Manning's records. Just like I wanted LaDanian Tomlinson to take out Shaun Alexander's record. Manning was a whiner from hell the year before he got that record, and I'd rather see somebody classy have it. If Manning had not managed to win the Super Bowl last year, which he barely made it there against the Pats, we wouldn't have to put up with his annoying mug on every frickin commercial on TV.
That would be a very good thing in my opinion.

That would be a very good thing in my opinion. | I think he was on more commercials before he won. A couple/three years ago, at a Colts/Pats game in Foxborough, when Manning was in the game, the crowd spontaneously started chanting "Cut that meat! Cut that meat!" It was frickin' hilarious! |

| This is going to be such great game. I mean, I love watching the Pats, but strategic domination is boring. Finally we're going to have someone even to play against- and it's going to be a massive shootout. I mean, we finally have people who can catch. Three of them! All of whom deserve double coverage. Even Bob Sanders won't be able to stop us this time. |
